Quote: Good discussions of earnings report, but I have an off topic question. ATL based going to initial qual in Sept. I checked the box that I want a hotel room for training in my AE bid. Do I still need to notify training planners for said hotel? Thanks,
Burn Notice
I had CQ recently and the hotel name & number was placed on my monthly schedule. A month or so prior to training I got a pop-up message on ICrew regarding what two days I wanted for a hotel. So I believe your hotel booking should be automatic and posted on your schedule.
Quote: Don't know if its what your looking for, but I know a few people with large collections that buy a dedicated external hard drive for music. (you can get a 1Tb on sale for about 60 bucks) Load up what your computer can hold and when its time to change it up, pull the hard drive off the shelf and file transfer.
This is what I have done. I have all 300+ CDs in MP3 format along with numerous other music (14,xxx songs and counting) in Itunes on an external hard drive.

If you read between the lines, they've simply moved departure times around and removed Southwest jobs from Atlanta. More an exercise in personnel efficiency thanks to the two "Bob's".

Great spin by SWA.

Better than saying "Delta is kicking our asses; we're in a defensive crouch in ATL."
Quote: That's the logic employed by the "outsourcing is good" crowd.

Is it the proper role of a union to leverage outsourcing ? If so, who's job gets outsourced and how do we decide while affording all members equal representation ? After we sell our flying, then what?

The bottom line of my rant is that we seriously undermined our own bargaining position and there wasn't a peep from anyone.

What the hell?! Have you had me on your ignore list for the past 5 years??

From the article:

“It’s going to allow us to compete even more effectively with Delta,” Chief Commercial Officer Bob Jordan said in an interview. “We’re doing really well today, actually gaining local market share. That’s the name of the game. It’s higher- yielding passengers too.”

Really?

SWA only has coach seats so how are they getting "...higher yield passengers too." ?

Spreading themselves around after a massive reduction is branded as reinventing the wheel, for great success!

And there wasn't a peep from anyone; except Carl, of course!

Author leaves out the fact that Delta has 7 flights a day to MCI.
