Not bizarre at all. We have had the mainline block hours shrinking a fairly steady 2 percent per year as capacity constraint became the management mania. This will be the first year in a long time where capacity is flat to a slight increase. As we move into next year the month over month increases become substantial in the second half of the year.

If we were smart we would. That way we could go DOH because airplane type/size/speed wouldn't matter...

And will they come to DALPA wanting an LOA for increased flex time and perhaps vacation cancellation because they just can't keep the hiring pipeline going with the additional training requirements (ala NWA)?

That has been the fleet plan for the last 3 years. They have actually pushed back some of the retirements from the original plan. The 737-900ER cost per seat advantage is so huge it simply makes no sense to keep the 757's to fly routes the 900 can do just fine. We will keep enough 757's for the routes the 900 does not so so well on.
Could we use a 717 for a tow plane? |
717= Angry Poodle. A small, mad, dog.
OR... how about calling them a Jack Russell Terrorist? We've got 5 dogs; 2 labs, 1 Blue Healer, 1 Toy Poodle and the Jack Russell. He's the only one that can't get along with the others. I once saw a great bumper sticker outside a pet store: "Jack Russell's are shaped like a football for a reason" Come to think of it...he does sort of look like a 717. I only hope the 717's aren't as loud! |

Where has Richard said that? I don't claim to read everything, but when did he say that?
