Being younger, better looking and better paid than I am is not a very exclusive club.

We always sign a LOA or settle a grievance or create a new contract section that allows what management wants.

Be it RJ or widebody, domestic or international, if management wants to put our code on it or sell tickets on it or share revenue on it, then Moak and his disciples in DALPA will find a way. That is his history and there is no sign he plans to change strategy any time soon.

You are correct.

Sure would like to see Alaska Airlines Section 1.

Dunno about that. Most of mi amigos from the former airline are LCA and senior. As a junior mostly reserve guy my pay lags theirs by $40K or so a year. When you throw in the 401K contribution, we are closer. To make the major career work (spreadsheet wise) some seat progression is required. Even with the raises we have enjoyed the lost of line holding ability and in some cases equipment, has probably the seniority block from ~7,500 to 10,500 earning about what they did in 2008. (could be wrong, this is an assumption from a very small data set of friends who talk about such things)

Not complaining or questioning any decisions.

Yeah. The major difference with CPZ is that our most senior pilots, myself included, are only at year 6 pay. I'm not a LCA, and I like traveling, motorcycling, sailing, cub flying etc far more than I like working, so I bid the minimum 75 hrs. Therefore it won't be much of a paycut going to DL, and I'll be back above my current pay by years 2-3. I'd guess if I was a LCA and worked more, I could clear 100k fairly easily, but still wouldn't be anywhere near the 20-year ASA guys.

Sounds like a given they would have put all their eggs in that basket, to ensure they can't be Guadalupe'd. Especially if they obtained the "increases" that are rumored in the other thread.

True, but I don't think Airtran ever flew it west of Denver.

I was wrong, he says Airtran flew the 717 DFW-LAX and DFW-LAS. Perfect for a DFW hub, eh?

I would be pretty surprised by that - there is a reason that no one flies DC9/717s west of Denver. I believe there are driftdown requirements that can't be met by that type of airplane. We had this problem at a previous airline.

Midwest used to fly the B717 into SFO. And Mexicana flew them throughout Mexico too.

Air West flew all over the west with DC 9's as did Republic /NWA..

If the company is going to start parking 757's next year, the only way they can protect our base will be by ordering the 321 or 321NEO. Just my 2 cents.
