Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
best new line: "FOR FLYING OUT LOUD!"
all i need to know is how quickly can i get it on DVD after seeing it in theaters? If it opens on August 9th, can I have it on the 10th? Otherwise, the 2 year old might actually turn into one of those "kid wanted taco bell and so he got in his parents car and drove there, and hit everything along the way."

How does their scope conflict with ours? How does it subvert (synonyms: overthrow, overturn, demolish, undermine) our scope? We either enforce our scope clause or we don't. That's another discussion.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want them flying large RJ's but what specifically violates our contract?

That's not the question '80. The question is, what language changed in the Delta Pilots Working Agreement as a result of the Delta Management/Pinnacle Agreement? As I said, I don't like the precedent set with the Company negotiating with a separate pilots union.

This. DL mgmt now has a contract guaranteeing another pilot group DL flying...which was negotiated completely without consulting DALPA.
Sorry to punt on this Denny because I'm on an iPhone and I've got to go flying here in a bit. Others have posted the actual document here and it includes the signatures of Delta management, Pinnacle pilots and ALPA national. No DALPA signatures. That document provides for a preference of Pinnacle pilots and a specific number of them. Our current Section 1 has this carve out only for Compass pilots (I believe). I don't have access to Section 1 now, but I don't think the hiring of Pinnacle pilots is anywhere in there...only Compass pilots. With the advent of this document signed by Lee Moak and Delta management/Pinnacle pilots, we now have an enforceable addition to our Section 1 that is not in the current Section 1 contract language that Delta pilots have access to.
The precedence here is eye popping. But more importantly, it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that ALPA is behaving like a national union even though that's prohibited by the RLA. We at DALPA could easily reverse this in court IMO because I believe we'd have the RLA on our side. But not a single rep has come out against this action by ALPA national. Also, remember this was done after we Delta pilots made an extraordinary effort to curb this kind of stuff by electing a large slate of new reps (working within the system).

I certainly won't deny that a separate agreement between the Pinnacle pilots and Delta Management was made with out the inclusion of DALPA. IMO this is a precedent that, at some point, could come and bite us in the arse.
Yes, our current section 1 has the flow thru for the Compass and Mesaba pilots. It also states this:
11. The Company will fill a minimum of 35% of the aggregate of all positions in Delta pilot new-hire classes in each trailing twelve-month period (to the extent airmen are available) with ALPA-represented airmen at Delta Connection Carriers, subject to such airmen meeting the Company’s competitive hiring standards, and subject to the Company’s objectives for diversity and experience among newly hired pilots. Airmen who flow up pursuant to LOA #9 and LOA #10 count toward satisfaction of such minimum percentage.
Looks to me like this could include Pinnacle pilots. Management does the hiring. If they want to enter into a separate agreement with another pilot group to give preferential interviews to that pilot group, it doesn't look like there is much we can do. Again, I don't like the precedent of negotiating with another pilot group without DALPA present but it's over and done now.
I'm pretty sure not one single word can be added to the Delta Pilots Working Agreement without being negotiated between DALPA and Delta Management. It boils down to: what was changed in the Delta Pilot Working Agreement as a result of this Pinnacle/Delta Management Agreement? Some one is going to have to show me.
Have fun flying! I always try too!!

If the Pinnacle pilot group negotiated a percentage of the RJ flying already allowed by our Section 1, then it is not necessarily Delta flying.....and they are just trying to guarantee some job security for which I don't blame them.
I don't necessarily like it but I don't see anything that is not contractually allowed going on.

They say when evaluating someone's character observe how they treat others. With regard to this last contract, too many Delta pilots truly believed they were the chosen ones to fly for Delta, management would never want somene else (wear your hats). Of course Delta has been whipsawing the regionals for ages, why anyone would think we are immune is beyond me. Welcome to Sky Team, this ship already sank.
Is it Delta flying or is it Pinnacle flying? If it's Delta flying that is being done by another company in violation of our Section 1, then we'd better grieve it immediately.
