Bypass-furlough pilots will return as part of "recall" classes before any of those new-hire pilot classes. Up to 203 possible.

I couldn't remember who made that initial suggestion, but I wanted to thank the original poster.

Quite a memorable day. Blue Angels were also on the ramp for the weekend's show, Rene the FBO CSR, and of course, CHA is the home of Krystals.

JB West was an Eastern scab, failed 2 upgrades and damaged 2 ValuJet aircraft. Everybody makes mistakes, but he had quite a string of them.

What if Daddy had to get home to fly a trip to put food on momma and the kiddies' table and keep a roof over their head? Makes perfect sense to let pops stay on the flight....

Word on the street is incorrect.

Furlough bypass pilots have spots in the first classes, then once "off the street" hiring begins, the remaining MSA flows (9/month, less than 75 remaining to flow...Help MESABA??!)and pre-divestiture CPZ pilots (20/month with a rolling 12 month cap, roughly 400+/-) are placed in classes. The remaining seats available are then filled with a ratio of eligible PCL SSP hires (max of 12 per month or 1/3 of remaining new hire seats, whichever is less), and then "off the street" hires.

All schedules are adjusted by slots required to place FUR BYP pilots in first classes (max 203), but likely 1/3-1/2 will return.

So say Delta runs 2 classes a month at 50 per class: total 100/mo

Jan-Feb: 200 FUR BYP

Mar-July 2014
3 FUR BYP (Mar only)
20 CPZ
9. MSA
12 PCL
56 Off the street (59 Apr-July)

Aug 2014 (maybe earlier)
9. MSA
12 PCL
79 off the street

Sept 2014-Feb 2015
12 PCL
88 off the street

So say Delta runs 2 classes a month at 25 per class: total 50
Jan-Feb: 200 FUR BYP
Mar 2014
3 FUR BYP
20 CPZ
9 MSA
6. PCL
12 off the street

Apr-July 2014
20 CPZ
9. MSA
7 PCL
14 off the street

Aug 2014 (maybe earlier)
9. MSA
12 PCL
29 off the street

Sept 2014-Feb 2015:
12 PCL
38 off the street

Then:
Mar-July 2015
100/mo
20 CPZ
12 PCL
68 off the street
OR
@50/mo
20 CPZ
10 PCL
20 off the street

Aug 2015:
100/mo
12 PCL
88 off the street
OR
@50/mo
12 PCL
38 off the street

(shown to illustrate how real allocations would work in certain scenarios, not a projection or guesstimate)
