Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
EVA Air Fleet Revamp Boon
For Delta’s MD-90 Operations
Taiwan’s EVA Air is planning to reduce its freighter fleet and phase out its MD-90 passenger aircraft. President Austin Cheng says all 11 of the MD-90s are being sold to Delta Air Lines, with five scheduled to be transferred next year, three more in 2015 and the last three in 2016. Delta repeatedly has espoused the benefits of operating MD-90s and earlier this month said it intended to expand the fleet.

Many years ago ALPA used a Weight, Speed, seating capacity type formula, to derive rates of pay for many different airframes, but bankruptcy threw that out the window years ago, which is why a 747 now pays the same as the 777. The Max gross T/O wt. of the 777-200LR is about 768,000, I'm not sure what the 747-400's is. I'm guessing it's more than that. Carl?
At Delta, at least in the last 20 years, I am pretty sure seats were never used in the formula. The formula more or less went away with the 737-800 negotiations and later the 777 and 76-4. You had aircraft that were much more efficient than the aircraft they were "replacing" so the goal was to capture that efficiency in the pay rate. If you would have plugged in those aircraft based on the previous formula, (or seats) the rate would have been less.
Glad DAL has money to burn, while ****ing of our pax:

sometimes these articles pop up on things we've already bought, so is this more more 90s??
we shall own them all!
? where did all the 717 Bs go? we were supposed to have 145, got 126 initially and now only have 107?
are we having problems finding the 717 internally? although I personally think we are short on the 88 I wonder if the percieved shortness is related to nobody taking summer irops into account? or that will be the excuse.
BTW, heard the quick 88 -> 717 transition is a pita.

Sorry to hear someone lost a child, terrible.
I watched a dual seat ejection today near Luke AFB... driving down road watching jets, suddenly pop pop, two good chutes with smooth landing/plf in farm field. F16, sounds like both ok. Looked like on dept from touch and gos. Think I was the first to call it in. Glad they seemed OK and news is reporting same.

Have you seen what "our" "union" is doing to our careers? For crying out loud, the company couldn't dream of a better propaganda arm.
And a majority of us just muddle along in blissful ignorance and/or can't make the correct decision due to their crippling risk aversion.
You're darn right I'm angry.
