There is no seat lock & he has to come back. If he continues to bypass he will be off the list.

Baja.

It's too bad we can't video tape ALPA roadshows. It would be fun to replay the reactions from a lot of guys when the Profit Sharing terms were presented in 2009. At the presentation I sat through, several of the present-day Donut Dealers were loudly promising that we'd never see a penny of profit sharing, at that it was all of lot of wasted negotiating capital.

Now you'd think it was the Holy Grail of compensation.

A stunning flip-flop.

Who were these people you're attempting to paraphrase?

I had a similar experience with an ALPA rep I flew with several years ago. I was new to the company and was just trying to catch up with all that was going on around me. But I do remember being struck (not in a good way) with his idea of increasing profit sharing and not pushing for pay increases as a form of compensation. But I don't hold DALPA accountable for this individual's philosophy, nor believe it was a flip flop of the organization since it was not advocated by the group as a whole.

2013 used to be 20%
This is misleading. Our 2013 profit sharing tax was 15% of our 2012 PTIX. Actually that 15% went to every single employee at Delta. Our 2014 check will be 10% percent of the 2013 PTIX. Only the PTIX over 2.5 billion is 20%. Our profit sharing does not double if the company posts a 2.6 billion dollar PTIX. Only 100 million of it will be paid out at 20%.

What that boils down to is ALPA pulled money out of one pocket to put it in another and then congratulated themselves.

Many pilots wanted higher hourly pay over profit sharing. ALPA probably looked at polling data and gave pilots what they collectively wanted.

Sorry for posting what is probably easy for me to look up, but an AE into a brand new category does NOT incur a seat lock right?

I believe you will incur a freeze. However, a new category is open to anyone including those currently under a training freeze. I could be wrong though.

I think this was (is) the version Mr. Anderson said we wanted and eventually, we will want some. It isn't a 757 or L1011, but for a Tupperware death tube, it has nice lines.
