I haven't spoken with the guy since my last airline so I don't know if he changed his situation.

I think Delta offers tuition assistance. Might as well wait until they are here!

I'd offer to negotiate that in the next contract if the pre-bankruptcy retirees offer to re-fund a percentage of the pension program for active pilots from their current monthly benefits.

Max,

If you don't understand why most on here would be upset about retiree pilots getting vacation passes that would put them ahead of current line pilots, then you're not looking at things in the context of the last 13 years from the perspective of a junior pilot.

I understand completely. My point is that people need to look to the future. You all will be there one day. It comes quicker than you think. I am fortunate enough to have had a great career with a loving wife who makes more money than Carl. I can afford to buy any ticket we need. DONE!

I'm trying to find it in the contract, but hotel wifi is working against me. Can anyone give me the skinny on 'one for two'? I just want to see what I need to look for, the rotation doesn't seem to show what I thought it would.

Its Section 12.K.1

K.
Duty Period Credit (“1 for 2”)

1. A pilot who reports for duty will be guaranteed a minimum duty period credit. Such credit will be calculated on the greater of scheduled or actual duty time, prorated on a minute-by-minute basis, for each duty period, as follows:
a. one hour credit for every two hours of duty time from 0600 to 2200 (pilot’s base time), and
b. one hour credit for every one and three quarters hours of duty time,
1) from 2200 to 0600 (pilot’s base time), or
2) from 2200 to release from a duty period that includes 0359 (pilot’s base time).

It may not show up on your time card until the rotation is completed (12.M.2)

No offense to you personally, but I just got done flying with a captain who educated me on the PERP guys (think that's how it's spelled). Senior captains who came back to fly the line pre-bankruptcy after retiring and taking their payouts all while we were furloughing junior guys. All while maintaining their pay and seniority.

Though a short period of time, my stomach still turned knowing DALPA would sign off on this with an LOA.

Age 65 is also widely recognized by most as another source of career stagnation over the past 5 years.

Personally, I think our pilot group has a hard enough time negotiating things for ourselves, never mind negotiating things for pilots who have long left and retired.

Again, I don't begrudge you personally, but I think you may have struck a tender nerve for a lot of junior guys with your suggestion.

And I do wear boxers, but I'm out of gold bond.
