When I get the new notice with Chriatmas week, I send that to the company and Walla, no workie on Christmas week. The big bonus is that no lawyer or judge is going to work that week either and you never get called.

Cue PG in 3,2,1... :D

So how exactly will this rumor affect your performance? I can't imagine I'll operate my aircraft any different after hearing the rumor then I did before.

If anything I suspect the opposite is true. The company is downplaying hiring and airplane orders are "replacement" because Wall Street hates airline capacity growth. RA is doing the best he can to get our stock price up in time for the next merger.

I wonder what alv+15 cost in upgrades and hiring?

FTB,

As you know reserve usage is category specific. Here are the hours for the LAX 737B for the Monday 29 July availability date:

23

Then again green-slips have been few and far between out here lately.

I'm at 90 hrs. Just finished a double deadhead to satisfy 30/7. Why hire! ATL 88

RE: Microsoft Surface Tablets.

Can we start an APC petition to save management from making a huge mistake?
Is there nobody in Delta's IT department with a clue?
Windows 8 sucks. The Surface sucks.

Its not too late.
I know management is wedded to Microsoft but they need to face reality.
The writing is on the wall. Microsoft tablets are like the Sony Betamax VCRs.

Would it be possible to organize an "intervention"?

Yeah, airlines are lying about capacity and nobody on wall street is smart enough to add. GMAB.

The can add up the orders and "announced" retirements, but there is no deadline on when all the airplane retire. How many times have the DC9s been scheduled to retire?

Although Windows 8 (Iteration 1) was a bust...especially "RT" that was the worst of both worlds (tiles with no start menu and couldn't run cornerstone apps such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc), the upcoming Windows 8 "Blue" will fix these and allow you to run software you run on your PC. If that is the case and it's small and light, it will kick iPads butt. Just like the iPhone, iPad was ahead of the game when it came out but the more you use it the more you realize how limited it really is IMHO. Each to their own though.

If pilots could intervene heinous management decisions, this would be a whole different business.

Of course, it can go both ways. If things turn south, DAL could retire 7ERs sooner and the "growth" wide body order that is suppose to be announced next month could become a "replacement" order.
