If you are on reserve and have training in that month, do you get paid less than guarantee? I am looking at my pay statement for Jun where I had CQ and RSV guarantee was 80. I only got 70:12 in pay. I'm confused.

Also did our pay go backwards? on my May statement it says pay is 2.228759
on my Jun and July it says 2.194333

In a CQ month your reserve guarantee is reduced by two days worth, but should be more than offset by the training pay, which is 7.5 hours. What does your time card say in the "Credit applicable to reg g/s pay" line? That should be your total pay for the month.

That per minute rate is your combined rate for the month after any over-rides like international pay are figured in. It will be less in months with no international flying.

Thanks, just the pay statement is very hard to read.

How does a pay work for a reserve month with vacation? Is the guarantee pro-rated based on days available? Then do we add the vacation value to that?

Example

Reserve guarantee is 72 hours
12 reserve days @ 4.5 hours per day equals 54 hours
1 week of vacation equals 22:45
54+22:45=76:45 hours for the month????

Can someone point me where to go to find info on the syllabus for a guy who has been away from a given aircraft for 15 months?

You can't get the answer from the above info (but yes you can make decent pay on a vacation month... If you have any training it is a slam dunk to bid reserve) Other factors are a 30/31 day month, does the category have the 20% extra x-day, etc. An ALPA guy, John Bell put together an excel spreadsheet that will do the math automatically.

Deltanet>Crew Resources and Scheduling>Scroll to bottom>PBS Resource Library>PBS Gouge 13-4

It is a great guide and I use the excel spreadsheet almost monthly to figure out if I am better off bidding reserve or a line. Hope that helps.

FYI:
An ALV 72:00 month the reserve pay will be between 77:57-78:29, with *12-13 on-call days.
If you have 3 days of CQ it would be 82:00-82:46, with *9-10 on-call days.

*Use lower "on-call days" number if your category meets the 20% reserve threshold.
