Go to the Delta Net Flight Ops page, click on your aircraft type, there should be all the info there you'll need, r.e. initial training, requal, recurrent, etc.

If you can't find what you need, find the Fleet Capt.'s phone number listed there, call him tomorrow, ask him to send you what you need. That's why they have an office job, to serve their fleet's pilots, so don't be shy, they can answer all your questions.

that's a lot higher than "just 80."

JB thread says theyve got 30 320 Captains and 10 190 Captains returning to Delta.

It's over my guess of 105.

I say 160 or 80%.

Just because they sent a letter back saying yes doesn't mean they'll show up for class... There isn't a penalty for prolonging the decision, but if you now out now you have no option later.

Exactly. We want guys who have been dragged into the LCA position.

It's the guys chomping at the bit, and campaigning to be LCAs that are always problematic.

How do you do that? How do you drag guys into this position? If they didn't volunteer or want to be there, how do you find them? And how much of an asset to the pilot group are they, if they don't really want the job?

I think when your dealing with the Feds it all boils down to money, lobbyists, and greasing the right wheels.

Depending on how things shake out with this AA-US merger will be very telling on how this industry consolidates and changes in the the future. Personally I see it going through after certain slots and markets are gift-horsed out to the luckiest competitor. If I was a betting man I'd say SWA will get the most out of it, and we'll probably eek out a few things from it as well. The harm of stopping this merger outweighs the harm that would be created from it.

The government's new attitude is a huge development. Consolidation might be over no matter how many wheels get greased.

We got in just under the wire on our merger and one other big transaction:

Although management and the union misled (to use the polite word) the pilot group about the LGA/DCA slot swap with US Air, after last week's news that whole deal now looks like pure gold for Delta.
We got a lock on a big chunk of LGA slot capacity before the Justice Dept. decided to begin their little anti-trust hissy fit and US Air got a bunch of DCA slots that it now looks like they might have to surrender.
It wouldn't even surprise me if we ended up with some of those same slots back, although most of any divested slots will probably go to new entrants willing to fly to some Congressman's district that doesn't currently have direct DCA service.

you know what makes me mad? the thought that pilots who get one of those red A Job Well Done cards from a frequent flier would turn those in for personal gain?!? No. You take those home and you keep them to remind you of who matters most and not go sniveling to the CPOs for some personal gain.

I mean if I did that Id have to turn in 10-12 of those per trip. And that's just for a 2 day trip. But I dont. Fly right people, fly right.

Accepting a class date and then just not showing up might not be the wisest move if you ever needed any sort of employment reference in the future. You're kinda screwing Delta if you do that. I can understand a furloughee might have some hard feelings and not care about messing with Delta's training plan but you still have to list them in any future employment history.

A simple "Thanks, but no thanks" would seem far more prudent.
