Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Aghhh, just finished a 4 day trip from #ell! Reduced rest on day three, and a 5 legger on day four, thunderstorms, three swaps with some maint thrown in.....and its all legal...and ALPA sanctions this in our PWA ! Almost hit 14 hours of duty time......Imagine sitting behind a desk for 14 hours then having to drive on the interstate during heavy traffic low vis and and thunderstorms, ...how safe is that.
And some how I feel our day was even worse than that!

Luckily for you ALPA Co-Chaired and had 5 members on the ARC that updated the FT/DT rules and will prevent situations like that starting Jan 4, 2014.
Unfortunately, there are pilots (and groups of pilots) who still don't see the power of a unified voice in DC. The industry side of the ARC had 9 members from 4 different organizations. The labor side had 9 members from 3 organizations....
FFT: Could the reuslts have been better if ALL 9 members on the labor side were working together without duplicated efforts and represented with a unified voice AND the Co-Chairmanship?

I think it's fair to say ALPA's membership was pretty solidly against raising the retirement age. How did ALPA do on that? (Hint: NOT good.)
It seems, as far as Delta pilot contracts go, ALPA National has an unbroken string of trading mainline jobs to regional carriers for meager (as-in "cost of living only") increases to our hourly rates. (Sub-mediocre performance)
They continue to vehemently deny the blatant conflict of interest at ALPA National.
So, to answer you question: Yes, the results could have been better.

After working all those days, my self maintenance has fallen by the wayside. I'm pretty sure the other people at the beach think I'm a homeless person that wandered in with a kidnapped 7 month old.
