I think Abbott owes a royalty check to Boeing for pants replacement due to knee skiffs.

You kids don't own knee pads? We've got a couple sets around the house. Handy things to have you know.

Some strong words coming out of Atlanta from Kingsley Roberts about C2015, ALPA and DPA.

It's a long letter, I won't post the whole thing here - everyone will see a copy anyway, but this was about the strongest line:

"Let’s be clear, DPA’s efforts are a blueprint of the USAPA disaster and we cannot afford to repeat the US Airways fiasco here. "

Thoughts?

It is a strong letter and it's about time. I'm no ALPA apologist, not by a long shot, but it didn't take me long to figure out that DPA is a worse solution than what we have now. My favorite part of the letter, "This scourge known as the Delta Pilots Association (DPA)..." :)

I think hitimefurl has been making some very informative post here lately about the lies of DPA.

I thought it was a good letter as well. We need unity. This new group seems to be proactive about addressing it. I like that approach.

There's a trim wheel? Huh. Guess I haven't noticed it while sitting on the jumpseat after a West Coast to East Coast red eye. I usually just stare at the screens and begin to drool on myself. :D

Seriously though, I kind of forgot about it. It is noisy though. And it spins like crazy! Buzz-saw indeed!

Wow. Great letter. Lots of strong words. Too bad they were directed at fellow pilots. Where was all this bloviating when we were getting our A$$es handed to us over the past decade?? Where was this line in the sand when our jobs were being outsourced to the lowest bidder? Where was the outrage when our pensions were being terminated and our salaries being cut in half? Where was the name calling when our own management compared us to Janitors? Why all the concessions in the rushed TA that you claimed wouldn't be compromised by the rush?

I'm no DPA cheerleader, but I've been here long enough to see this letter for exactly what it is. A squeal of despair when the bill payers stop drinking the Kool Aid and start asking tough questions.

Well, Dalpa, I guess we'll see just what those tough words will amount to in 18 months, assuming that you're able to stir up enough support to actually continue representing the pilot group at Delta. It's kind of a tough situation really. I mean, now you actually have some words to live up to. I'm thinking that if you don't, there won't be much left to stand on, will there?

yep, I remember..then they told those guys hiring would stop for about 6 months to a year and ramp up again. How many years ago was 2010? Then it kept getting pushed back and back and back

I just think that DPA will divert some attention from the real issue come 2015 - namely a better contract. If ALPA and DPA are continuing to argue about representation, people might just tune out and not pay attention to any of C2015 - just when we need the most participation and unity.

Not me: If the DPA matter isn't wrapped up by the end of the year (i.e. cards validated and a vote is ready to be scheduled) then it's time to put it behind us. We do that by requesting our cards be destroyed or returned, and our names removed from their roles. I sent in a card for several reasons, but there's a limit to how long I'll allow my support be used to drag this out.

Perhaps a counter movement could be made from amongst the DPA card signers to say get it done, or shut it down.

Added: The ALPA lanyards going out in the mail; they wouldn't be left over C2012 lanyards would they? Even if they're not, save me some dues money and keep 'em. /Non-DPA lanyard fella with no DPA stickers. Just a pilot who is tired of excuses & BS.
