No letter terminals at JFK...all numbers.

I've heard the plan is to demo 2 and 3 and build on the rubble. However they have to save the old Pan Am part of the terminal as some sort of historic landmark. So 3 is to be totally bulldozed and 2 will get a surgical demo.
As to the financial health of Delta, I thought the long pole in the tent was the Port authority finding its part of the financing. |

Part of the problem (or a big part of the problem I guess) is finding out what we're going to use as a terminal while this is all going on. I mean these days, we're using hardstands as it is just for normal ops. I can't imagine what it will be like during construction.
As to what do we give up? A promise not to move back into DFW. |

What do you suppose DL would have to give up to that compAAny in exchange for T8 at JFK?

People movers or trailers.

Would that be an even swap relatively speaking?

I wouldn't say so. But their could be other assets or cash involved I suppose. Or if AA eventually got a new terminal out of the deal as well over at T2&3. Here's excerpts from someone else's JFK roadshow notes: "USAir is never expected to exercise the route authorities we traded them. They are limited vs unlimited route authorizations (whatever that means) and they are expected to sell them. DAL the corporation has been acting like a shark, trolling for other ailine's assets, the USAir gates were one asset they had identified as wanting some time ago. When they became in play, we snagged them. Other assets are out there that we want also and it appeared that in several cases, offeers have been made. No plans to buy united's 777's...RA did offer a terminal swap to american AA's terminal in JFK for ours in BOS - no deal, there are hangars and gates in big west coast cities we want that belong to competitors, LUV is having a tough go right now and their bid for frontier was to allow them to continue their growth (denver gates)- they are largely out of growth markets that fit with their business model." |
