What if AMR is forced to invest in JAL and the only way they can get the cash is to sell their terminal in JFK? (to Delta)

2005? Did I miss something? :)

Just the fact that we shared a cab to bankruptcy court.

Like I said a few posts ago, this just could be a great head fake.

This could also all just be a ploy to have AMR dump a ton of money in to JAL and further weaken their position.
If that is the case, it is decision time for AMR.

You could be right on this ACL, but it could also simply be a cross currency play. The dollar is so weak against the yen, and it will probably get weaker. The nation of Japan will NEVER let Japan Air Lines go under...NEVER. Therefore, we invest in U.S. dollars today, for an asset valued in yen. I actually think it could be an extremely shrewd move.

We didn't buy NWA - we gained control with a stock swap, aka merger. We're buying an interest in JAL because we are buying it...with cash, aka purchase.

Liike maybe Anderson's way of paying AA back for Crandell schooling Allen in the Pan Am deal?

It's a thought.

There are benefits to it as well. Major benefits. We just cannot rubber stamp it. This is a bigger deal that AF/KLM if it proves to be true.
