I know of at least 4 off the street that got the email this evening. |
T, I understand your position. I was there myself. But, unfortunatly, a PAC is a way of life in DC now. Many foreign interests are using that to our detriment. They have deeeeep pockets. $20/ month is 4 layover beers a month. That's all. I am no rah-rah type but this I stand on. All I ask is reconsider.
PS-Show us Mizzu cheerleaders in few weeks so we can compare and contrast! |

You and I are the positive/negative on this issue. I would rather keep ALPA with all it's flaws because the alternative group (and it's leader) is repugnant, and although ALPA-PAC is the only way to -as you say- bribe (and that is the CORRECT word) public officials. We need that but I cannot bring myself to participate, and I send a very heartfelt thank you to all those that do.
T, I have though similarly for years, but just recently decided to start contributing to the ALPA-PAC also. I know exactly where you are coming from. The threat however, is growing. Scoop :) |

Etihad's CEO said it will consider more investments for the right gains
September 26, 2013 James Hogan, president and CEO of Etihad Airways, said the state-owned airline will consider more equity investments as it continues to increase its global presence through a mix of organic growth and strategic partnerships, the Centre for Aviation reported. Currently, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates is involved in three major transactions – gaining stake in Jet Airways, a stake share and management contract in Air Serbia and increasing equity in Virgin Australia, the story said. In addition, the story noted that Etihad has also invested in aiberlin, Air Seychelles and Aer Lingus within the last three years. With its latest acquisitions, the seven airlines combined serve more than 340 destinations with a fleet of 511 aircraft, the story said, adding that last year they carried a combined total of more than 91 million passengers – comparable to large airline partnerships in Europe and Asia. “Equity investments deliver synergy benefits which cannot be achieved through legacy airline alliances,” Hogan said in the story. “Legacy alliances are focused largely on network and revenue benefits. Our equity alliance delivers much broader benefits for all of the partners including opportunities to reduce costs through resource sharing and joint procurement.” The airline’s strongest alliance is with airberlin as the partnership has profited both carriers with codeshare agreements, integrated loyalty programs and offering 42 flights between Abu Dhabi and Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Munich and Berlin with more plans to expand in the works, the story said “Global reach is beyond the capacity of any single airline,” Hogan said. “Progress must come through partnership. Our equity alliance is a new business model for the airline industry.” This is straight off of Deltanet!!! Scary when one thinks about it. Puts a lot of our shorter views of ALPA and our contract in proportional light next to what is ahead.... We can spend 100% of our time on ALV+15, Buckets, sick calls etc..... or we can balance to be more effective. If we don't watch this cancer and attack it we can not worry about anything else... T, I will buy the beer if you contribute to the PAC, every penny counts.... FIIG |

But dont you see RA is doing the same thing with Virg Atl, AeroMex, Gol, Maybe Sky MArk etc etc etc. All of our equity injections. I think Etihad is taking a look at our playbook. They like our profits so they are going to mimic us on this new way to make money. TEN |
