And the interesting thing about that is that the refinery doesn't need to turn a profit as a stand alone entity. As a matter of fact, we probably don't care if it does. What it DOES do is give us control of our largest expense... it is simply a bonus if it turns a profit. Sort of counter intuitive in a way...

You still hung over from this weekend?

Jadaveon who?????

AE results are on Deltanet. No surprises...lots of FOs moving to 88 capt, no backfill.

30 new captains and lots of unfilled FO openings for new hires.

Question- If you're sent to the SIM for landing currency while on RES, is that day treated like a normal RES day? If you get sent down on an X day, will you be given a payback day? Thx.

While others have stated that this is treated like a normal reserve day, the answers were not entirely correct. The pay treatment is covered in Section 11 B.3. of the PWA. For each day of recency training a reserve pilot will receive 3:45 pay/no credit. The reserve guarantee of a pilot who is designated for recency training on an on-call day will be reduced by a pro rata portion of the reserve guarantee for each on-call day for which he receives recency of experience pay. This has the effect of the pilot receiving slightly above the reserve guarantee for the month. If the training occurs on an X-day, the 3:45 is all above the reserve guarantee. There is no provision for payback days in this scenario.

Congrats. After careful calculation of out of pocket costs, including premiums, we went with Diamond last year. Take every bill you have paid and will pay towards medical add a couple emergency visits for a buffer and then compare. I think Diamond saves you a bit even though the deductibles are higher.

I count 30 unfilled MD88 FO slots on that bid, split almost evenly between ATL and NYC.

I came to the same conclusion.
