I know it has been covered but:
How do I purchase a full fare DAL ticket, discounted for employees? Is it worth it or can I buy cheaper on web-sites? Thanks.

Are you talking about the "Fly Confirmed, Fly Confirmed for even Less" discounts? (Apologies if I misunderstood your question.)

Fly Confirmed Discount Programs

My experience, so take that for what it's worth, the 'savings' depend on the route & specific flights you choose. It may behoove you to check competing sites like Kayak, Priceline, etc. to make sure you're getting the best deal possible. YMMV

Another caveat. "Fly Confirmed for Even Less," tickets are cheaper but are non-refundable and non-changeable. Even the "Fly Confirmed for Less," tickets may non-refundable depending on various hidden factors. Also, if you change dates you will notice that the new tickets are considerably more expensive due to the fact that "hidden" change fees have been applied.

While we are talking about non-rev issues. Do we have any privileges on British Airways? I can't find any.

Second question. Can we jump seat on United/Continental internationally? I want to go from EWR-LIS.

YES!! Geeta. They own the Indian place in Narita City but Geeta is better in my opinion.

Last month I did a taste test for Gyoza. The factors were friendliness of restaurant, quality of food and value. Here are my rankings for GYOZA in Narita:
1) Spiral Staircase (Cafe Bon)-All u can eat, delicious
2) Radisson Sports Bar (Super Star)-10 pieces but cheap
3) Green Awning- Kind of fed-up attitude, expensive and small portion

Orvil;

I'd love to hear some feedback on Lisbon / Portugal. It's the only country on that continent I haven't spent time in. I'm guessing there isn't enough traffic there for us, but Lisbon 80 years ago was a large center of commerce and an important internationally neutral ground.

Somebody with paint please create a concept- FTB?

I think the comments RE the 777 not making (enough) money were in reference to the /BE/Y mix of seats. DL is planning to pull out some BE seats and FC seats on domestic planes and replace them with coach, since they are not filling all the FC seats on most flights, save for 'free' upgrades. The 777 was specifically mentioned in this initiative. Sucks for non revving!!!

While sort of on the subject of seats I'd be curious to get some opinions regarding Delta Business class compared to American and United's latest offerings. It seems our seats are a bit short for anyone over 6 foot when laid flat. Anyone have experience with this? Opinion on our entertainment system offering/reliability, food, seat/controller/tray table layout as well as privacy in the middle seats?

I know, I should probably be asking this on airliners.net but thought I'd get opinions here. I like to know how our product stacks up. The quality of the seats up front will likely drive the hyper competitive business travelors in the coming years as AA and UA get back on their feet post merger.

AA seems to have a pretty good setup and good food.

As things heat up among the last 3 remaining Legacies how do we stack up? Would be good to get pilot reports from guys who have ridden on all of them up front.

Here's a site with customer reviews covering business class across the the entire Delta fleet.

Could it be...

On its new 777-300s just being put into service, coach cabins have 10 seats in each row. The width of the fuselage didn't change—it's a longer airplane—so the seats shrank from more than 18 inches to about 17 inches. Other airlines are making similar moves with widebody cabins.

I'm not going until October, 2014. We are planning a cruise and it departs from LIS. I imagine we would spend two or three days there as back up departure insurance. The closest I can get on DAL is to go through MAD and take the sleeper train to LIS. AF and KLM are options, too. United has a 757 non-stop out of EWR. TAP serves most of Europe and I can ZED from BRU, FRA or LHR if necessary.

I will provide an after action report.
