Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Bucking Bar or someone else smarted up on tablets:
Need some IT advice! I've got 10/11 yo kids. They are begging for "an ipad". They'll only use it to play games... but the dang Nintendo DS things are almost $200, so I'm thinking about it.
-- What's the tablet to get 10yo kids that will let them watch movie, play a game, and maybe actually do some school work?
My choices:
Nook (whatever their top of line is now. I have a Nook tablet and hundreds of books...)
Kindle Fire HD... seems an android tablet, but I'm already on the Nook book std.
iPad 2 ... we have iPhones but no other Apple computers, all microsoft.
iPad mini
android tablets like Samsung Galaxy Tab ... I'm leaning this way, but no experience with these.
Thanks anyone who can shed some light on my Xmas buying trip for tonight!!

The Sea Chickens lose at home to the Cardinals?!! I love it! 49ers better beat Atl tomorrow night!
LOL some good buying responses.
I'm thinking a new vacuum for the wife, and of course new dish towels?

She's hoping for an AR15 and a Zombie machete, I'm pretty sure.

The company just loves when we work 120 hours a month.
And then we wonder why it takes so long to upgrade.
At least its interesting to see all the pilots out on Virginia Ave. right before the first PCS run.

No limit to the amount of time you can pick up. Isn't our contract wonderful?

It would sure make the -layovers- a lot more interesting!

That would bring a whole new meaning to..."Slam Click"!

What is the logic in having a Open time limit via PCS but no limit via the above?
Was this a concession to the company or something that Pilots wanted?

The average DAL pilot does NOT fly 92 hours. The average DAL pilot is PAID 87 hours per month (including vacation/GS/IA/WS/swap).
Reserve pilots at DAL average 75:30, but every month of training and vacation will increase their pay above ALV (roughly 5-6 months per year).
Please stop the crazy.
There are only a few designated pilots who are paid the average +5 hours (which additionally does not come out of our dues) because they work more days per month than average pilots and are UNABLE to pick up any premium flying even if they wanted.
I'd be appreciated if APC DAL posters would refrain from inventing/repeating inaccuracies.

You guys realize this isn't something new, pretty sure "swap with the pot " was from before the NWA merger and most likely been in effect for a long time.
That's what I meant when I said to Timbo that it wasn't a new game. There are several of guys who bid for the 2 day LA turns and then swap them for a 3 day 30 hr DXB or NRT. You have to be pretty senior to be successful with it.
