I think that is fairly accurate....don't have it handy but I believe you are correct that it is covered in "when scheduling calls".....2 hours is the generally accepted guideline (intentionally not delineated in the PWA)...with the proviso that some cities (e.g. New York) have their own unique report time constraints.
A pilot on short call is required to be within the general area of his base and promptly available for trip coverage. Since each base has its own particular traffic problems, the term “promptly available” has never been defined in terms of time or distance, and is based upon normal circumstances that can be expected throughout the day or night. Actual realistic response time may vary from base to base and with weather and time of day. It is not possible for a pilot to anticipate and account for abnormal conditions beyond his control which may extend response time beyond that normally required. Therefore, an NYC pilot encountering a snow storm, or an LAX pilot caught in rush hour traffic might each require in excess of three hours to sign in and be well within the definition of “promptly available.” Note: For NYC-based pilots, short call availability may be measured from the pilot’s closest co-terminal (EWR, LGA, JFK), without regard to the actual co-terminal to which he is required to report. For LAX-based pilots, short call availability is measured from LAX. If a pilot anticipates an unusual response time, he should inform Crew Scheduling for their planning purposes. Any discussion of “reasonable” should occur only between the pilot, the Chief Pilot, and, possibly, an ALPA representative. |
More aircraft mods
So if I read this correctly, it appears there will be 72 757-200/300s left. Assuming Delta keeps only the upgraded ones. Bummer. But it's good to see $$$ going into all of the A320s.

There is a possibility of keeping 10 additional 757's depending on the outcome of a long term charter contract under negotiation.

GMAB. You sound like the guy who picks up flying for free, sits in uniform on his days off in ATL just in case they call him in to work for free on your day off. Then you can make a gate house PA with your hat on telling everyone how much you helped Delta out by flying for free. Probably have at least one family photo of you in uniform as well. I was simply saying that guys who YS on days off do it for free. How you go from that statement to what you wrote I have no idea. |

There go the nice wide aisles in the 319/320. If the seats go from 17.5 to18 they gotta get the space from somewhere.
