They can go out as early as 0800 the day prior to report. Other than that, you're exactly right.

From what I have heard that is not everything that DALPA is seeking.

Congrats, 80!
That'll learn anyone for saying something as stupid as Michael Jordan wasn't that good. :D |
Well... poop. Sorry FTB. Congrats 80. That's what a championship game should look like though (even if the wrong team won in the end....) :)
Now that college football is over, what are we going to talk about until September?? |

I sent my wife up to bed at the end of the first half. Coincidence?? What an amazing game. Congrats to ftb for an amazing season and a very well played game! |

Let's bear in mind that the PWA does not provide for the use of an MEL that gives any relief on the required pilot rest seat or facility. If the 777 condo is inop, if the curtain on the 7ER is missing, etc., the flight will not operate in compliance with the PWA.
Excellent point! |

I also saw a trip where a pilot's rotation started with (as in was originally scheduled) a DH and then another leg which put the pilot past the Max Duty day and required him to fly into his 2 hour extension. This was how it was built... Point being: look out for trips built that have you flying into your 2 hr extension from the get go.
1) 117 only allows FDP extensions for "unforeseen circumstances"... Known weather or traffic delays are not valid excuses for FDP extensions. 2) 117 does not permit extensions for issues that are within the airline's control. 3) If the extension is greater than 30 minutes, the airline must submit a report to the FAA describing the circumstances of the extension, and outline the corrective action to prevent it from happening again. This corrective action must be in place within 30 days. 4) Any pilot that accepts two extensions (greater than 30 minutes) without an intervening 30-hour rest period has violated FARs. Or so I've heard. |
