I'm on my 3rd inverse assignment robocall today and no GSWCs have gone out. At this time, I think the company will cancel the flight before it hands out a GSWC.

Incidentally, after rerouting me into a 12 hour duty day on day 5 of a 4 day trip, does the company really think I'm going to fall over myself to help them out when they refused to hire?

Spoke with a rep a few days ago. He said at that point we had had a half dozen given a PD for acknowledging inside 10 hrs and had the trip dropped. He said they'll be filing a grievance. I also saw a trip where a pilot's rotation started with (as in was originally scheduled) a DH and then another leg which put the pilot past the Max Duty day and required him to fly into his 2 hour extension. This was how it was built. Said rep said he would not have accepted the trip as it was scheduled. I don't know what the pilot in question did. Point being: look out for trips built that have you flying into your 2 hr extension from the get go.

Good luck, FTB & 80!

It's hard for me to watch a football game and not root for one team, or another, so here goes:

I have to root for FSU.

If for no other reason than the guy at my wife's Christmas party who told me that Michael Jordan wasn't that good of a basketball player and faked the flu in Game 6 of the NBA Finals because he bet on the game and wanted to increase the spread, went to Auburn.

Go FSU!

Sometimes that's all it takes. :D

Oh 80,

I hope your son had a great birthday yesterday!

That he did! It was a really nice celebration, and a decidedly lower alcohol content than other birthday parties we've had in the house :)

It's hilarious (but also very time consuming) having a toddler around.. it's a like a constantly drunk little person stumbling around getting into stuff.

BEHOLD THE SEMINOLE DEFENSE! (for now... this is gonna be a close one)

Yes D-ALPA does. Read the Chairman's letter that was sent today.

I ys if I know I'm going to get a trip to pick the better one out of opentime, to put yourself over guarantee, or sometimes you can get an extra day off by ys a 3 day or a 4 day when you have 4 or 5 days availability. You gotta make the best out of reserve and don't understand why people make a big deal out of yellow slipping....

These are guys YS'ing on X days not on their on-call days. I get throwing one in when on call, but doing them on your x days is working for free unless you are over the reserve cap. There are reasons for doing them on an X day, but not very many and they are almost always for free.

I also heard from a very good source that we are asking for door pay and an increase in ADG. Since I heard this I think its important for every pilot to back ALPA on this one. DO NOT acknowledge a trip until 3 hours prior and then ask for your FAR 117 mandated rest. That is how we can get some much needed leverage back
