BTW - all of this applies to the 10 hour notice requirement only. ALL other 117 limitations still apply.

Awesome! We, as well as both sets of grandparents, reside in ATL. Support network is set. I really just want to have a day or 2 to wrap my head around being a new parent. Also curious as to how it would affect probation, don't want to screw that up. Darwin's luck, day one of class.....wife goes into labor!
Thanks again for the advice lads. See y'all real soon!

I think you will find DL to be very accommodating. Good luck and welcome!

Probation: Delta is your best friend until you give them a reason not to be. Now more than ever, they will be looking at your attitude. Say it again. Attitude. Got a problem in the sim? How is your attitude? Are you glad to be on the team, what can I do to help?, just want to do the best I can.. or is it 'all about you', do you blame others, is there 'friction'?
Same goes with your situation. Of course everyone will be happy for you, and supportive at Delta. It's a great thing, after all, having a baby! So how you approach it is key. Giving Delta the heads up, letting them know you'll be flexible, and then when the time comes, just tell them what's going on. I'm sure if you put your situation in the hands of the coordinator, he or she will ensure that you are able to be there for the birth. I would just 'roll with it' after you've told the coordinator about your situation. Let them handle the details and just go by what they say.

After a couple weeks off, up all night with my (then) newborn twins, I was calling Crew Scheds every hour, BEGGING for a trip!
"I'll go ANYWHERE! I just want to get some sleep!"

I went to order my 2013 expense report from Flightline data yesterday, knowing it might be a while before I got it. At the bottom of my order it says, "Please allow up to 3 business days for processing and delivery."
F'r real?
I'm highly skeptical - but has anyone else gotten their report in a short amount of time yet?

Yup. After my twins had been home about a month, I realized why sleep deprivation is a form of torture. Speaking of sleep, they look to be sleeping right now, good time for a nap. Gotta be ready for the 3am feed - kinda like sitting SC...
