ACL,

I'm quite a fan of yours and appreciate your insight into the various topics on this thread. Your "crystal ball" has been very accurate.

Two questions, though:

1.) What make you think our stock will double in 12-18 months?

It really has nowhere to go but up. If the economy recovers we will recover. That target number is still less than its initial valuation in early 2007 when the stock was reissued. A company that has revenues o f 42-50 billion with less than 800 million outstanding shares should have a nominal value of 25-30 dollars. If we can show a constant margin of 3-7% after the economy recovers, we should be well above my target.

2.) What's your take on SWA flying internationally and transoceanic as well?

Thanks in advance!
I see this as a nessity for WN. They need to expand. Their business model needs it. They need to go after markets that we are inefficient in. LA, and SA will be their first attempts. Some will go well, and some will not. It is a lot easier to go to LA then Europe. A lot of that can be flown under domestic rules. Europe is a different animal, and I do not see them doing that for a few years at the earliest. If it was easy Mike O'Learly and Ryan Air would be doing it now. There are some major flaws in Low to No cost across the Atlantic and for that fact long haul over six hrs. The business and the model in which they fly it will have to change.

I know I will not fly a single class, beer and peanuts service to Europe. You may be able to get away with it much like Spirit does to the Caribbean and LA, and SA. Some of the deep SA flying is still a stretch. Eastern Europe would require a new type and that is new ground for WN. They could use the 800 and 900 for Western Europe, and the Latin destinations. SO in effect, I am not holding my breath.

I was happy to see our Market Cap closed above LUV's today. That is something we have not seen in years!

Just my thoughts and like I have said, I do not like to give investment advice, there are plenty of pilots that do that.

Amen. I breezed through the de-icing stuff. But I live in LA and its 85 degrees outside. I'll get serious and do my homework when I'm transiting MSP or JFK in about three months.;)

And most of the SWA pilots I've talked to don't like them. They would rather just do it themselves. :D

Looks like Airline Pilot Central just got brought down a few pegs.

So much for us getting their terminal in JFK or squeezing them financially on the JAL deal.

Fact is that AMR needs this cash for the long haul. We will see if they want to part with a bunch of it right now. With financing those jets 100% they just too on a ton of debt.
