For example, I got a lecture on how when we call out runway/dep/first fix that calling the runway "27L inside and outside" is not in the book and not valid. "Verified" is the only appropriate callout since that's what is in the book.

"But... it's in lower case letters... that's an action, not a callout. You're trying to make this into SOPA/SMAC. It's not. How you verify it is up to you, as long as you are verifying that you're in the right place and the runway is in the box."

"ITS NOT IN THE BOOK. YOU SAY VERIFIED."

It was like that for literally everything. As I'm sitting over there like:

Then he lectured the flight attendants for 20 minutes after the flight on why they are going to unionize and everything that Delta does is stupid. I was glad he moved on to them. :)

I flew with the non-F15 version of this individual not long ago. Lord help us, they're out there.

If you think of better ways to do some of the things the airline does, you're a pilot. If you think you are the only person who understands how the airline must be run, and everything needs to be fixed... you're something else.

There's a thread for that.

All because he had an Aeronautical Engineering degree from the AF academy. "

I hate assh*les like this. If he is so smart, apply to be a Line Check Pilot or APD, then work your way up to CLCP or Fleet Captain. At that point you will have a say in how to fly the aircraft,

Until then, as you said, the aircraft says Delta on the side. Fly it the way Delta wants you to fly it.

For us..."peak flying" is no longer in the summer...thanks to C12 moving 31 day bid periods into the non-summer months. Scoop can take it from here... :D

I have flown with more Embry Riddle tools than I have USAFA/USNA tools.

Just sayin.'

Yeah, I know. The bid said they were adding them for peak "summer" flying so I guess there is a peak for the summer and a peak for the year which is now March. So if we are staffed good for next month then why we adding guys for the summer months??

Yeah... This guys makes guy number 3 in 7 years that I'd rather not see again. That's why it stands out so much!

I never knew where the F-15/USAFA thing came from as I had never flown with one that drove me crazy or anything. Finally I found the guy! It's like I traced the rainbow to the pot of gold or something.

Gawd... we don't need people like that on the 4th floor. As a LCP, I have seen all types come and go... what we truly need are those that have been there... done that and understand what it takes to fly from point A to point B without an ego trip.

This ain't rocket science....

I think they [HR] spend waay to much time on the hiring mumbo-jumbo.
I think my interview questions consisted of: "Do you love your mother?" and "Can you tie your shoes?"

The FTB decision tree:

1. Is this guy going to make me miserable? Yes. Go to step 2.

2. Is he going to make me sick? We'll see. See step 3.

3. Does he know more than me? Probably. Step 4.

4. If I knew something he didn't, would he acknowledge that? Doubt it, won't win any arguments even if I'm 100% right. Step 5.

5. Use the following one liners, go maximum troll http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/strong.gif:

"Aw that's cool. Yeah, you I'd love to have flown helicopters in the Coast Guard had I joined but at the time I was chasing tail."

"Which one is the F-15? http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/j/jarksaber.gif Is that the two seat one? If it's what I'm thinking, it had two seats." (can't go wrong. but don't overdo it.)

"That's in the Air Force, right?" (you're pushing it here, but it lets you know how far this can work)

"Which Academy? Where is that? Is that new, I hadn't heard of it?"

"Aw that's cool BUT what did you do before the Air Force?"

[randomly drop] "Yeah, I don't know about how you guys did it but when I was instructing..." (that's going to make an awesome ASAP report in 3... 2...)

Now, had I flown F-15s in the USAF I'd really love to play this game because I'd really know what buttons to push, "where do they do your training? Oh yeah, you know the last Captain I flew with mentioned something about how that base wasn't very good..." Oh to have flown F-15s and not tell him until the last leg and drop "well when I was at Langley..."

http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/m/mwahaha.gif

"Did you know a guy named Ferd? I bet he got tired of you and kicked your ass." And then spike the checklist and walk out. Or awkwardly stand at the door and don't make a sound so it seems like you walked out.

A Nicholas Sparks movie? Seriously, that's what we're watching tonight? Oh shoot me in the ... wait... Joulianne Hough is in it?

If an actress was an airplane, she'd be a 717. "Yeah I don't know how to make it work but I just like looking at it."
