3. Does he know more than me? Probably. Step 4.

5. Use the following one liners, go maximum troll http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/strong.gif:

"Aw that's cool. Yeah, you I'd love to have flown helicopters in the Coast Guard had I joined but at the time I was chasing tail."

"Which one is the F-15? http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/j/jarksaber.gif Is that the two seat one? If it's what I'm thinking, it had two seats." (can't go wrong. but don't overdo it.)

"That's in the Air Force, right?" (you're pushing it here, but it lets you know how far this can work)

"Which Academy? Where is that? Is that new, I hadn't heard of it?"

"Aw that's cool BUT what did you do before the Air Force?"

[randomly drop] "Yeah, I don't know about how you guys did it but when I was instructing..." (that's going to make an awesome ASAP report in 3... 2...)

Now, had I flown F-15s in the USAF I'd really love to play this game because I'd really know what buttons to push, "where do they do your training? Oh yeah, you know the last Captain I flew with mentioned something about how that base wasn't very good..." Oh to have flown F-15s and not tell him until the last leg and drop "well when I was at Langley..."

"Did you know a guy named Ferd? I bet he got tired of you and kicked your ass." And then spike the checklist and walk out. Or awkwardly stand at the door and don't make a sound so it seems like you walked out.

I'm a really chill dude...I am fully content to do my job and watch the pretty clouds float by.

That said, tools bring out the naughty side of me. The more toolish you are, the more I start channeling Jeff Spicoli.

ATC says 220 kts, u set in 219. ATC says fly heading 290...u dial in 291. It'll drive him nuts.

Very few because there hasn't been an ER displacement for quite a few AE's. Enough senior ER FO's are bidding off.

ftb- those were hilarious!

The first day, I just go with the flow and let the tool be the tool. I'll fire back a couple shots here and there just to make them work for it, of course. We only flew 2 short legs together, so I didn't get to experience the full brunt of it... but I'm pretty sure that's the most amount of toolishness I've seen manifest in that short a period of time. Now, on a 4-day, like Nu the passive aggressiveness and trolling tends to spike up as they days wear on and the patience wears down.

It's really funny/sad how guys like that lecture you over minutia while they screw up far worse in many more areas. But that of course is where the beauty of it lies when you decide you're done with it later in the trip. Then, use it to ever so slowly peck away at that colossal ego. :)

The one common thread on all but one of the super tools that I've dealt with over the years: They are all ALPA safety committee guys. Yikes.

While the guy is putting the times in on the flight plan waypoints, go in and change the en route time by one minute on the preflight page. Watch them struggle to find where their math error was.

Purple,

I think your post pretty much got the point across.

On 23 March 1967, the worst ground aviation accident of the Vietnam War occurred at Da Nang Air Base, South Vietnam when a traffic controller cleared USMC A-6A Intruder, BuNo 152608, of VMA(AW)-242, MAG-11, for takeoff but also cleared USAF C-141A-LM Starlifter, AF serial number 65-9407, of the 62nd Military Airlift Wing, McChord AFB, Washington, to cross the runway. The A-6's crew saw the Starlifter at the last moment, veered off of the runway to try to avoid the collision, but the A-6's port wing sliced through the C-141's nose, which immediately caught fire. The load of 72 acetylene gas cylinders ignited and caused a tremendous explosion, only the loadmaster escaping through the rear hatch. The A-6 overturned, skidded down the runway on its back, but both crew, Capt. Frederick Cone and Capt. Doug Wilson survived, crawling out of the smashed canopy after the jet stopped. Some of the ordnance load of bombs and rocket packs went off in the ensuing fire. Military Airlift Command crew killed were Capt. Harold Leland Hale, Capt. Leroy Edward Leonard, Capt. Max Paul Starkel, SSgt. Alanson Garland Bynum, and SSgt. Alfred Funck. This was the first of two C-141s lost during the conflict, and one of only three strategic airlifters written off during the Vietnam War.[1

Colonel Cone is second to none. I'm glad that people know about this story. He has a picture of the impact in his office (or did several years ago).

@purple drank, sorry about your experiences with Riddle grads. It's why I hate the "so where did you go to school" part of the conversation... (Yeah it is a question asked in the minor leagues)....

One of the best guys here told me this story. Similar trip, but instead of an F 15 guy, this particular Express capt. had been on the F-117.

He had been going on and on about his exploits and combat time for the better part of two days straight while on a four day. Finally this FO said, "I am confused, how much could it carry?" Guy goes on about the armament load.

FO replies, "Wait a minute, it is a freighter, right?"

Capt, now showing signs of contempt, explains that "no, it is a stealth fighter." This first officer follows with the fact that he thought anything with an "F" in front of it designated that jet as a freighter and then asks this guy what do you mean by stealth of course knowing full well what the he!! it is.

Former Nighthawk guy condescendingly says, " I will make it simple for you, basically it is invisible, on radar."

Reply: "Oh, I get it now, like Wonder Woman's jet right? Must be hard to find on the ramp."

Pretty quite trip after that.

Thx Rhino. That's what I thought. PWA 4.c.1.d says that as well. I have skeds looking at it. No Vaca or trng. Will update if they come back with something different.
