How are electronic tablets of any kind going to make my life better? I don't have to carry Jepps. I don't have to update Jepps, they are there waiting in my airplane when I get there, and I can use them to go anywhere in the world. NOW.. I will have to carry a $400 device, be responsible for it, don't break it, and make sure it is up to date. How is this better?
As long as those damn kids don't leave one on your lawn. |

We all should have had this over a decade ago. One of the largest failures in ALPA history.
 |
In the name of safety and efficiency, I'd love to have the radar picture for the region up and available during a flight.

Maybe it's time we ditched the high tech gizmos in our hands, the FMS, the RNAV, the LNAV, speed tapes, FADECs, localizers, futuristic icrew, and went back to flying like our daddies did. Old Pilot 2: Drunk? Old Pilot 1: No, no, no. Using our hands and our wits. Yeah, sure, it's hard work, but it has meaning and dignity. Old Pilot 3: Huh? What do you say? [long pause from the other men, MD-88 pilot screaming in the corner of the room claiming he already does that cannot be heard] Old Pilot 3: Nah. Let's just trip park. Old Pilot 2: Sounds good to me. Who wants to call scheduling and set one up? [long pause from Old Pilot 1] Oil Pilot 1: Hey... I forgot what I was saying. Hey did you hear they made another change to the FOM? Old Pilot 3: Oh give me a break, another change?! Why can't they just leave well enough alone. |

So THAT'S why we've lost all those ALPA-flown airliners to thunderstorms over the past decade!
 The automobile, what a stupid idea. |

Take a picture of the chart with your phone next time. A little review before the test always helps.

Although very tasty, I believe that this is one of the most expensive IPA's that I have ever had in the US.
My current personal favorite is the Stone Cali-Belgique. Followed by the Ballast Point Sculpin & Big Eye. But NEVER rule out the quickly forming Micro's in the North County (Vista mostly.) Belching Bever, Iron Fist, Prohibition, etc. Stay thirsty San Diego!! Baja. |
