Ding, Ding, Ding. We got a winner! Not going to make it any better. Plus you're responsible for uploads and servicing it. Not going to make life any better---Not until they put add on's like Turbulence and real time weather by Flt Level. And....as the NTSB announced at the UPS investigation--all devices were taken and scoured for email, messages and browser history. So if you're looking to buy a new custom made Holland & Holland; you'll be branded as a columbine gun nut.

How are electronic tablets of any kind going to make my life better? I don't have to carry Jepps. I don't have to update Jepps, they are there waiting in my airplane when I get there, and I can use them to go anywhere in the world. NOW.. I will have to carry a $400 device, be responsible for it, don't break it, and make sure it is up to date. How is this better?
Posting to APC while domestic? Discussing DAL scheduling rules while flying to MSP? Just a few thoughts.:D |

That is a very important caution, one that should always be heeded. But our dispatchers use it. So does ATC. I guarantee every DL pilot knows more about thunderstorms than any meteorologist, and can (and should) be trusted to use this tool with due care.

(For the record, I agree with T. I've just been waiting for an excuse to use that GIF....) |
Here is a short article that discusses the issues with data linked radar.
When Using NEXRAD Can Be Dangerous | PlaneAndPilotMag.com As I mentioned however I use it all the time and it's a great tool if you understand the limitations. |
IS&S Update?
Hey everybody! I was searching back in the thread and was wondering if there are any updates on the proposed IS&S avionics upgrade plans with the 88/90 fleet. Can't find much information since the initial announcement.
Thanks! |
