Airline Pilot Central Forums - Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

If it had these gear and lost a ton of money, Obama and Biden would be throwing government money at it ... I think that's the plan. Just need to lose those wings and engines, they don't do much anyway.

They do both run on aging, band-aid patched systems.

Man, the ATL approach guy handling arrivals from the southwest this morning was a crankster. "Delta #, did you slow down?!?" Us, "only when we passed through 10,000 feet, to 250. We weren't assigned a speed." Him, "you don't slow down without telling someone in Atlanta!! Maintain, 210 until blah blah blah!" Us, "we're doing 230, we'll maintain that." Him, "accelerate to 210 or better!" Us, "uh, ok, but we're already at 230." Him, "contact tower."

Sheesh!

Hope all's ok with you and yours in L.A. town, after the earthquake. (Same goes for any other L.A. based pilots on this forum, or Delta employees in lower Cali.)

Hoping this gubermint isn't anti-Delta, like the Nixon regime was anti-Pan Am. :eek: Actually, probably just anti-Juan Trippe, but one in the same.

All is well. I just got home. Pretty good shaker though. Knocked some stuff off the walls. On a positive note, the kids were up and ready for school ahead of schedule. ;)
