Now I'm going to have to fake like I'm sleeping every time I'm on a 737 JS. Just so I can personally annoint the doosh with a TOTD award.

Don't fall asleep on the 737 JS. Evidently, there is a 737 A writing guys up. He tells you to stick around, references the FOM and informs you he has to write you up.

Then you get a call from the CPO... it lasts 10 seconds.

If it happened, than the CPO would be the TOTD, with the 73A as runner up.

Have not seen that, yet. I did get "flossie" for the first time. He started his brief by suggesting I do an autoland my leg (two days later). I suggested he fly both legs. He happily accepted. ( I've got enough landings in 10K hours to figure the trade off of being non flying pilot was better than getting 5 hours and 28 minutes of dual received. )

It was amazing watching him floss and flip food all over the left 2/3rd's of the cockpit. Nest time I'll follow his demonstration with an immediate sani wipe cockpit spooge cleaning and see it any hint manages to be non verbally communicated.

Easily debunked story. There is no reference in the FOM.

A) It's his JS though.

B) I think the best response is to say, "okay, thanks again for the ride, bye."

Not sure how it's easily debunked because a Captain can reference whatever he wants for his js, if you want to call him on it then you can, otherwise walk away and let it go. It's not really easy in the jetway or worth the fight if he's dead set and determined that a rule that applies to him applies to a JSer.

I've seen worth a fight before with a 7ER LCA commuting to work who decided to give us a line check on the 88. And yes I do mean a line check, full debriefing, quoting what we did wrong and how the FAA would be very displeased or I believe the word violate was dropped in there. Except that what we did wrong was follow the VOL 1 for the 88, which is different than the 767, but is probably what we should've been doing because we were flying... an 88.

We say PM Approaching inbound course, PF ILS Armed. Not "___ Armed/active" or whatever the 767 does, also there was something about the PF not repeating back the PM "out of __ for ___" call which is a PM only at least in the 88 VOL 1. The 88 A did not take kindly too it. Got very very heated in the cockpit at the gate and FTB was trapped. http://www.beechtalk.com/forums/imag...ies/hiding.gif The 88 A got an apology letter later. All good.

But we were quoted verbatim what the VOL 1 said, except, wrong VOL 1. A sleep nazi could probably quote the first sentence in 4.3.2 and say you are a crewmember and say you are required to be alert. That's why I say, let it go, go on to work and when the CPO calls just say "I didn't mean too, it was a mistake, but I honestly didn't know it was in the (cough cough) FOM" and let it go from there.

Most everyone I know has apple and I've been holding out, but might have to make the switch. Another thing pushing me to apple is the schools around here use ipads. Thanks

Facetime is an Apple thing. You can't use it on other platforms.

You can Skype. But Apple people won't answer your calls. :D

If most everyone you know has Apple then your choice has been made for you.

P.S. - You'll have lots of fun. Just don't tell the wife that the NSA is watching. ;)

He has to be ATL based. Hell, if you CAN fall asleep in the 73 JS, you're a frikkin hero in my eyes.

As one who lays over a lot in base, at LAX, that place is completely unacceptable. There are too many decent, fairly reasonable, options at LAX to have to resort to that crap hole. If the Sheraton Gateway doesn't want us, I recommend the committee go after Hilton, Westin, the Renaissance, Marriott or the Four Points. All very nice. I get them for around $75. Seems to me that Delta could work a similar or better price.

Sorry guys. Work it hard. I know that area and it sucks.
