I have an upcoming trip to Accra with Morovia turns. Just read in the news that Ebola is spreading in Guinea and Liberia (Monrovia is in Liberia). Too close for comfort. This is too close to our Africa ops. What re-course do we have in situations like this? Any input?

These laws allow the use of one's sick time for more than kids. If a guy can use his sick time to take care of his parents'/wife's/grandkids' etc. injuries, illnesses, treatments, surgeries, etc...it becomes a lot more than "penny pinching."
Keep in mind, these laws apply to more than just pilots...they apply to every employee with sick time. |

KNOXVILLE, TENN. (KFGO-AM) -- People associated with the Fargo Airsho are shaken by word that a popular pilot who performed at the show a number of times has died in a crash in a remote area of Tennessee.
Airshow committee co-chair Dick Walstad says Jim Maroney was killed when his "Super Chipmunk" went down Sunday night south of Knoxville. Walstad says Maroney was headed from his home in Wisconsin to an air show in Florida. Walstad calls Maroney an outstanding, safety-minded pilot. Maroney, a Casselton native, was a former squadron and group commander for the 1-19th wing of the Air National Guard in Fargo. He retired from the military in 2002. He was most recently was a chief pilot for Delta Airlines. |

Re-posting a request for help. After almost 2yrs, looks like we're finally selling the lake house in Newnan and heading to SoCal! (A dream that's about 25yrs over due!)
Looking for specific suggestions for finding a rental house in orange county... I.e., accurate web-site, good realtor, etc. (Thanks NoPac for your suggestions.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (Time to start growing my soul patch!) |

You can, hopefully that is something we will be able to fix in the next contract or at least have a limit.

I turn the AT off on most landing in the airbus too. Have you have been on an airbus? I'm not going to tell you the airplane is something it's not, just seems like bad info.
Like it or not, the airbus is a seniority changer. Guys that are on it don't want to leave, and the guys that aren't on it want nothing to do with it. I have not operated it. (doesn't seem like "flown" is the right word. :D) But I have been on the jumpseat quite a bit commuting. Hands down, Airbus makes a more comfortable airplane, both in the cockpit and especially in the cabin. The way it appears to work is just not for me. I'm probably in a minority, but I dont care for the side stick.... and yes, I have heard that it takes about 15 seconds to master it. I am talking about ergonomic design of a crew airplane. If you turn of the A/T, does that disable the retard retard? |

We also need to get 1.5 over 80. Only the very few in my category can get a greenslip every month if they choose to do so.
