Any one know of someone who commutes from central america?
Specifically from Costa Rica?

I know one guy who commuted part time and another full time. With the ability to book the JS the commute itself was not horrible keeping in mind that even easy commutes suck.
The issue both had was theft. If your a gringo any property you have belongs to the locals if they can grab it. You will get zero assistance from the police. If you are going to be gone half the month you must live in a compound with private security. Even then budget for new TV's often.
The other issue is taxes. You will owe all US income taxes so make sure you will not get taxed again by the country you live in.

Not sure. The Company would not want you to drop your sched and pick it up at Premium Pay. But, I've been in the situation where I screwed up a blank WS, dropped a PD on it and got something else right away.

Behind on the honey do list, I will look it up tonight if someone smarter than I does not know the answer.

Any guesses as to why the ER is going so junior in ATL? The A320 and 737 are remaining pretty senior.

Crew planning should stop threatening fall displacements. ... although it might be a strategy to add another couple of Type Ratings to a Certificate that already does not fit in Delta's computer. 767>displace>717>bid A320 it makes more sense than a goat porn fetish, barely.

Didn't know that. I thought PD days were basically involitile. Good to know. Can you GS on PD days?

You can do anything you want on a PD day. Don't confuse a PD with a APD.

Dropping a trip is different than a PD day on reserve I thought. Maybe that is where some of the confusion is. I thought if you PD'd a reserve day that was it, nothing else could go on there. No?

Hey guys, pay/reroute question. Flew into ATL last night at midnight and scheduled to layover. On the way off the a/c, scheduling calls and asks us if we can fly to TPA. 320 mechanical followed by no copilot for an 88. We were the third and final chance for 140 pax. Was that a proffer, ie, GS? Reroute pay? Nothing has popped up on our rotation yet and now we're double deadheading to SLC to pick up the rest of our rotation. Any help?

Yep, a couple of news stories who were made offers they could not refuse for property.

If they dared refuse ... dead gringo = vacant lot.

Yeah I think all that CA/SA stuff is hype and very selective optimism. Everyone acts like you can get a mansion for $200 a month and eat prime steaks for 25 cents in paradise on the beach but the reality is vastly different. I know someone (non aviation) who just tried it and very quickly came home. Adding in the equivalent of a trans con to double trans con commute each way for the myth of strong buying power just to be subserviant to a foreign justice system is absolutely laughable. Can't believe anyone would even consider it.

Adding more ER FO's? Is the 757 future looking brighter, or should we just expect more displacements?

As a reserve when are we considered full?

Reserve guarantee is 75:30 (77:30 Avl) in my category and shows 92:30 as Max reserve for the month. However, I had a week of vacation, two 5 day trips, and a 2 day. My credit is 56:42.

Thanks for any responses.

Look at your time card for the reserve guarantee amount. When guarantee reaches 0, you are done.

With the current fleet plan there should be few if any displacements from the ER. There may be some on a base by base case but should be minimal. As I posted we added 530 net CA positions since Jul of 12. That should actually accelerate for the next 18 months. Let's hope airbus gets there act together on the 242 ton 330's and they get here next year. More delays could slow things a bit.
