I've been going to CR for a few years. ATL to LIR is about 3.5 hrs. Never had to sweat getting on, sometimes even in first. Pay $50 a month for a property manager to take care of your place when you are gone or need cleaners/pool boys/lawn care...it beats trying to figure out the hire help laws (there are some and they can be complicated). Don't look for land ON the beach, there are no private land ON the beach. You could have Rastafarians camping in front of your house, its public land up to 200 feet from the water. I have had no problems except for a police officer wanting to see a copy of my passport once while I was 2 hours away from my condo...its in the car now.

C-2015 Management Talking Points

Guys,

This is just my personal opinion but it is based on hearing something very similar on three separate occasions - all from people in leadership positions at DAL.

Productivity: Management is putting out that we are dead last in Pilot Productivity. This is total BS. It is pure BS because they are picking their metric to define productivity, which is block hours. Fact is we operate multiple fleets which require a lot of training - fleets which by the way let them maximize revenue which is far more important then block hours.

FACT - DAL pilots produce on average more annual revenue than Southwest Pilots.

Don’t fall for managements BS. If they decide to operate multiple fleets with numerous 30+ hour layovers that is on management not pilots.

Sick leave usage. DAL Pilots use more sick leave than other pilot groups. No shiit! Many other Pilot groups bank sick leave - we don’t. A nice Apples to Oranges comparison.

In my opinion Management will try to use the above as talking points in C-2015. I hope DALPA is ready with a quick response.

No more productivity concessions!

If you hear either of the above mentioned be sure to counter it.

Too late. Once again, DALPA is behind the power curve and will have to scramble to catch up.

Assuming, of course, that DALPA does not share the company's view on those matters you mentioned.

But let's be realistic. I bet 45%+ of Delta pilots are automatic "yes" voters, no matter how bad the deal. My hypothesis is that the company only has to convince a very small number of independents to accept any given agreement. I bet the company's union-buster figures the same thing.

And you are probably an automatic "no" voter?

Another thing guys were discussing and had multiple opinions on last week:
If you use your APD to drop a trip, can you fly-- WS/GS/Swap-- on any of those days?

--YES, but you can't do ANY flying on days that have "APD" on your schedule. However, you don't have to "APD" every day of a rotation to drop it!

I just tested this, and it's true. Say you have a 5 day trip on 1st thru 5th, and you use APD to drop days 3/4/5 of the trip. The entire trip is dropped, and "APD" shows up on your schedule on days 3/4/5. You CAN Ws a trip and pick up something that flies into days 1/2. Even though you did APD drop the trip, you only asked for APD on SOME of it's days.

Wise tactical use of your yearly APD depends on whether you absolutely dont want to fly (reserve duty say and you want to ensure off), or if you just don't want to fly THAT trip and you can't drop it due to coverage.

While nobody can prove MH370 was swallowed up by a black hole, nobody can prove that MH370 wasn't swallowed up by one either.

Something to think about....

I'll give you that it's a non-zero probability at this point. :)

For the millionth time, years of service, ie DOH at your previous airline, is MEANINGLESS. Relative %, status and category is it. Lots of people were affected by the SLI and subsequent merger efficiencies. Bet lots of fNWA also moved up after the merger. Don't know who started it......but let it go please.
