Waiting to get to ATL
Damn, thought there might have been an AE drop at COB today.

Was hoping for one as well, but heard from our ACP that it is probably going to be end of Aug or early Sept. Anyone else hear differently?

Update:
AE is waiting on a few things and one of them is a decision on the 75/76 at CVG. Apparently there is a possibility of making it a 7ER base and that would require the complete rebidding of the category. Company is concerned about massive "paid" moves by folks who want to move out of CVG.
The latest however is there will be an AE and it currently has backfilling. They are also planning on hiring, just waiting on the dates for both events.
ACL65 had some good info on FI.com that hopefully he can share here.

I know I asked this in another forum... but what are the retirement numbers for DAL? How does the NWA integration and age 65 affecting the retirements.
(i.e. What is currently the time for upgrade?)

My company is offering cash plus sickbank payout for me to quit by Sept 1, 2008....if I had a crystal ball I know where I could get a quick $50K...that would be a nice going away present.

Yes, there is a lot in the works. From what I have been told, there are a few options that are running around with the future of seats, bases and positions post DCC.
The longer they wait to post the AE the more backfilling there will be for the Summer '09 schedule. It also includes out first merged schedule.
With this in mind they are weighing moving some of our ER's, 88's, and 777 to MSP, DTW, and SEA. In kind they are looking at moving 744's,300's, 9's around to our bases. Read major realignment. What the debate is, is to do new bases now and get the DAL or NWA folks on "their" equipment in the "new bases" now or wait and let seniority take its toll down the road after SOC. If they do not do it now, look for 12 day trips internationally.
FWIW the 88 will probably go to MSP so that it can hit both coasts, and the 320 to ATL where it can do the same.
As far as I know there is no decision as of yet. Keep in mind that the longer it takes for this to come out the more back fill there will be. There may also be some displacements.
Also on the hiring front, we have finalized the Summer '09 schedule and now all of the departments are looking at it to see if we can do it. Flt Ops stated that they could do it, but that we would need to hire. Some say sooner than later. Personally I would not be shocked to see people interviewing by Oct.
