In which direction has the US deficit been going? Larger, or smaller?

Patriotic, or un-patriotic?
Tell me about the rate though.... and how those numbers have been cooked as of late..... The debt is mega important. Interest alone on that $17 trillion is staggering, and when you have fewer and fewer people contributing to that reduction, it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out how it will be paid for. While I haven't heard the noise lately, I am still concerned about ROTH IRAs and 401ks. They are gonna have to means test everything. Even Paul Ryan has talked about that. If the Hildabeast gets elected, I am terrified what her pen will do..... Remember, you and I (and most everybody else on here) are in the top 5%.

Here's another comparison for you. I started smoking today, and I will quit this afternoon. Good for me, right?

RE RFP:

Who am I?
  • 350 seat class
  • 21% less fuel per trip than 747-400
  • 12% more fuel per trip than 777-300
  • Same engine MX cost as 777-300
  • 80%+ lower purchase price/capital cost than 777-300*
  • 7 in stock now, "add to cart"

Cheers

2013 accumulation of reward dollars was roughly $600, which went into your HSA/FSA/funny money account. The increases in premiums and deductible for 2104 was roughly $550.

Am I the only person here that's not upset about the second distribution and subsequent performance? 12 dollars.. 4 dollars, regardless it just crossed 37 dollars today. That's a good performing investment no matter how you cut it.

Here is my beef with the process. The first transaction that Athena handled was done prior to the stock trading publicly. We couldn't have sold our stock until the new corporation IPO started to trade. Ok, it worked out. I participated in the Athena sale.

The second distribution was company wide. The stock was already trading publicly. But, DALPA withheld our allotment. They held on so long that it cost me 66%. They didn't ask me if I wanted Athena to handle a sale. There was no membership vote. DALPA just did it.

I'm happy for those that held onto their stock are reaping a reward. Congratulations to them. That doesn't change the fact that we should have gotten control of that stock immediately upon issuance instead of helplessly watching it tank. That has left a bitter taste.

You were already getting those reward dollars. They did not increase from the previous year. Therefore you will have more out of pocket cost. If your deductable last year was $1000 and your reward was $600, then you had an out of pocket of $400 to cover it. Now if your deductable goes up to $2000 and you still only get $600 then you now have $1400 out of pocket. Our cost went up plain and simple. The reward dollars cover less percerntage of the total cost now. Therefore you will pay more out of your wallet.

I'm not sure what you mean by the rate. If you are asking about the deficit, it's shrinking.

I think the point is that it's less than half of what it was 5 years ago. If you were smoking 5 packs of cigarettes a day a month ago, but now you are down to two, I'd be like congratulations -- keep doing what you are doing.

My 401K is more than double what it was back then.

Plus, I'm way better off than I was in 2008 and I suspect you are, too.

You have to admit things are going in the right direction, right?

So, maybe "things" -- and "the CEO" you were talking about -- aren't quite as bad as you make them out to be. :roll eyes:

Well T, from PMs previously, I think this answers my question.
