I would if it were true. Again, if the reduction in QOL is a result of you actually having to work, then I will reluctantly agree, to a point, but it is not as a result of the contract itself .

Then why did the company expend negotiating capital to wrest concessions from us?

I don't know, maybe it's my category, maybe it's because I now work for a more employee friendly company or maybe it's because I'm an optimist......but my QOL is better.

Actually, it just dilutes seniority.

Not necessarily. What if you are senior and you get 2 one day GS's and the guy junior to you gets 2 4-day GS's because that's just what happened to be there? Goes both ways if we had a RAW score for GS's instead of just the number assigned. Should actually be more in favor of a senior bidder.

Are you really asking that? It's because that is what they do. They had efficiencies that they always could take advantage of, but were probably unable until the merger synergies reached a certain point. Anything else they could get in the negotiations were gravy. But like Ferd said, my QOL is much much better than it was before the contract. (and I'm junior in my category too)

You're basically saying that if someone is willing to gamble on two one day-day GS, they should have their 3rd before a guy that patiently waited for a 3-day GS can have their 2nd. Do I have that right?

The old system steered all the food to only certain customers, the GS distribution improvement makes sure that everyone gets to eat, in seniority order.

It sort of feels to me like you're obsessing over OPP (other people's plates), after everyone's been served. When it was your turn, you were in a hurry, and you asked for the salad, but now that someone else is having the steak, you want an extra dish before everyone can move on to desert?

Put me down as a "no", on this one.

The company on the other hand can cover your bases' trips with a reserve from a fat category with no penalty.

Exactly. Brought to you by the smartest guys in the room.

[QUOTE=LivingTheDream;1631828]I thought we all knew we were getting into a seniority based system. I agree to a small leveling of the good deals (ie., all offered 1 gs before a second gs is offered).

But seriously, now we want to level the time awarded? Where shall we end this socialism... we take turn

I want PBS to start working our schedules vertically. In other words, after #1 in category gets his or her first trip, it goes down to #2 in category and so on...is that too much to ask?

I keed, I keed
