I downloaded and read the latest live contract, but did not see it. Any help here?

Thanks in advance.

You sure it doesn't say REG GS TRIGGER. That's what mine shows, and I think it is the lower of the ALV or 75 hours, whichever is less.

There is no such thing as a RSV trigger as any GS flying on X-days is paid above guarantee. This is true even if your guarantee is adjusted due to personal drops, vacation, training, etc.

Take a look again, and I bet you'll find it actually said REG GS TRIGGER. If not, I'd be curious to hear the answer too

You are correct. The time card says "REG GS TRIGGER". My bad.

Hmm. Still in training myself but scheduled RES for rest of May when training gets done. [Pay/Hours - Time Card] shows a line of REG GS TRIGGER: 75:00. My understanding was that Regular line holders had to meet this before scoring 200% pay, while reserve line holders would get 100% pay for GS above and beyond ALV - 2 hrs, plus a compensatory XX day off.

Obvious disclaimer is this comes from a FNG, so anyone feel free to correct my misconceptions from Indoc...

Pretty much nailed it. Not bad for an FNG. . You'll be rolling thunder before you know it.

A few nuances to add...REG pilots can borrow up to 5 hours to meet the trigger to make their GS worth double time - the math ALWAYS works to do this, even if you have to go negative in your bank.

RSV's only get pay above guarantee if they fly on X days or if they accept a short notice (less than 12 hours) GS on their first day on call, which is next to impossible now with 117 requiring 10 hours of rest before a trip.

Btw, love your Flying articles. We're of a similar demographic/vintage so I can relate to nearly everything you write about, at least timeline-wise. Although I don't think I could've made it through a UND winter preflighting in -30 windchills!

Oh I never flew at that temp, just towed em out .

Thanks for the clarification on RES GS pay. I presume any GS I would pick up would be on X days, not inside of 12 hrs but outside of 10...just gotta figure out the smart X days to commute into NYC early to snag junior GS and I'll be good . Oh that and nailing the monster MD88 flows to get thru training!!!

Question about being scheduled to fly with LCA giving OE....my next trip, the LCA I'm scheduled to fly with is giving initial OE to an FO. My question is, if it's the FO's first time in the airplane, am I going to have to ride along in the jump seat for the first three legs? It's been a while since I've gotten one of these deals.

I had one last month I thought I was going to be released from but the OE candidate disappeared from the trip 2 days prior.

Thanks, Erik

Crew scheduling will call and release you after about 7:00 PM the night before the trip if the OE is on.

Thanks, so the requirement to ride along the first four legs-three landings for the OE'er, isn't required anymore? Like I said, it's been a while. E
