Reference GS on reserve, do you get any credit above guarantee on ** off days or only XX days?

Both. ** are just golden X days. They are treated the same for GS purposes

Follow up...can the payback days be placed into your "bank" to be used at a later date or does that only apply if insufficient days remain in the bid month?

They will automatically place a PB (payback) and PR if applicable (Partial Reserve = Partial Payback) on your subsequent RSV days in the current month. If you don't have sufficient RSV days remaining to soak up the PB/PR days, then they will be placed in your Bank for use at a later time.

You don't have the option to bank the days. It is simply a function of whether you have any RSV days left or not. It is NOT however automatic. Make sure you keep an eye on the PB/PR/Bank days, as a scheduler has to manually update your schedule/bank, and I've had to call them on it probably 1 in 5 times to have them process it correctly.

As far as payback days go, be aware that, once they are placed on your schedule, they can be moved around just like X days can.

Also, as a heads up, when assigning reserve green slips, scheduling has failed to put payback days in my payback day bank twice in three months. Moral of the story: Make sure you know your contract! Oh, and enforce it!

Edit: Doh! I see LeineLodge addressed CS's problems. Stuff like this never used to happen....

You can find the info on the DeltaNet under Employee Info / Delta Perks / Insurance / Legal Services.

It is a great deal. You get a will for absolutely free. Everyone should have a will.

One caveat: I wouldn't go through them if you have some highly complex estate planning you are trying to do. They are great at the basics but if you have trusts or generation skipping bequests or a QDRO that binds a defined benefit pension or anything like that then you probably already have a lawyer anyway.
You will also need additional planning documents to do the job properly. The will is just the start. You will need a power of attorney and an advanced directive. Not only do you need documents to take care of things after you untimely demise, you need the appropriate documents to take care of things if you become ill or incapacitated.

Delta only pays for the will, which is great, but it shouldn't cost much to complete the remainder of the documents. If you are married, your wife needs them, too. If you have minor children, a trust will be needed.

If you are doing this for you parents, consult with NAELA.org, the National Association of Eldercare Attorneys. I used them to find an attorney for my parents out of state. I looked like a hero to my family when my mother passed and my incapacitated father needed care. It was worth every penny and more to have made the effort to find a specialist.

For myself, I did not take advantage of Delta's service. Rather, I used Hurley Elder Care Law in Atlanta. In and out in a jiffy. Everything was done to my satisfaction. I did have to pay for the will, but I got all of the other stuff done, too.

It seems like it's gotten worse in the last 12 months. They used to put the GS on your line, and immediately update the PB/Bank days. Lately it seems like they are so busy/behind that it gets scribbled on a post-it to be taken care of later. Unfortunately, if the don't ever "catch up" it tends to fall off the desk.

This is yet another thing that could/should be fixed pretty simply by IT - less work for the schedulers, and less auditing for us.

Any fellow APC'ers in CA & WA in need of estate planning attorney PM me. My wife has a friends and family discount avail and I may be able to convince her that this is really a cool group of pilots

Details are important, recent unfortunate events with a client who decided a few days too late to take action had an entire estate turned over to the state of California because of no power of attorney for an elderly parent with Alzheimer's. Delta deal is good but finer points need professional attention. My kids are not happy with the conditions of their inheritance but we know what's best.....right?
