I'd probably get behind a hybrid like UAL does... SNB, LNB and WB.

But for the company to gain the training waterfall savings we'd need some real healthy increases on the pay tables to offset the QOL stagnation that would happen for a while.

Hey guys, if working less hours was the objective (got some family issues requiring more time at home) what airplane would be easiest to give away time to reduce schedule to say 50 hours or less a month in the Salt Lake Base? A320, 737 or 7ER?

Depends how senior you are. If you can hold short trips, bid them and put them on the swap board. Guys can more easily take short trips, and the swap board is not limited to ALV+15.

I'd go to the category with the most short trips where I had the most seniority and then bid good trips, dropping them strategically to get off the extra time needed. Good luck with the family issues.

Whats the plan for the aging MD88's and older 320's? Don't think I would recommend making any plans based on that many planes.

Thanks LeineLodge. I'm around 10,100 on the seniority list if anybody in Salt Lake has a similar seniority and is willing to let me know how easy it is to drop trips on what your seniority holds on the equipment you are on?

Interesting thought. We are going to retire a great portion of the list over the next 10+ years. "Stagnation" is not really likely and QOL will be the only choice you would have to make. I agree on the payscales thingy, but remember what Spock said. "The needs of the many...." I'm not saying that anybody needs a paycut, but some might get a bigger piece... eventually.. than others. I know that doesn't sit right, but Spock said.....

Now, how does this LGP work exactly?

Have a pulse, don't get fired, get a payraise. Easy.

I know absolutely nothing regarding the plans for the 88s or 320s, but I've heard Airbuses tend to not age well. Furthermore, I've heard the 88s are holding up, airframe-wise, much better than anyone anticipated. I don't think the company would be investing as heavily as they plan to with flat panel upgrades I'd they didn't think the airframe could sustain a long term operational longevity. Apparently, the 88s are the most operationally profitable aircraft we own right now. Personally I see them in the fleet for a very long time. Fwiw.
