Why should we care? We all still have our jobs. That's how this world works, right? The entire Midwest pilot group loses their jobs, but the Republic pilots still have their jobs so they don't care. One airline has their pension terminated, no one cares because everyone else still has theirs. Sorry, getting off topic. Rant over.

Not to me. Point is that there were people that got the axe here at DAL/NWA over this merger. It just was not the pilots.

Midex is a totally different ball of wax.

Yep. I think they will have a hard time getting that many guys to take NFL's. There were 50 7ERB no fly lines in Atlanta just for November alone. I would have taken one in December if I could have gotten one, but there are non for the taking on the 88 in any base. Looks like 153 Captain no fly lines and 272 FO no fly lines just for November. Atlanta and Detroit appear to have the biggest numbers.

Didn't NWA own part of Midwest when this started? How is Republic not caring any different than NWA not caring? Is there a Delta resolution yet to push for Midwest pilots to be hired at Delta?

At least we know there wont be any SILs through the winter.

I guess I missed it but what did the pilots get for this temporary contract change? Was this a cost neutral deal or a cost negative deal?

acl65pilot 10-07-2009 04:32 PM

Cost negative for those who take it, and cost positive for those that will not get displaced.

No love for the Mad Dog. Oh well. Didn't like that "no pay" clause anyway. SIL would have been sweet.

I agree, but as this LOA points out the company wanted a better cost cutting measure. They saw guys dumping tons of trip which made the SIL worth more than what we were doing. They are going to throw this out there to see who will bite.

I agree with you Joe. I called my reps a couple of times recommending that the Midwest pilots get merged into Delta with NWA. My reps laughed at me as I was on probation. I even flew with one of my reps and that's all we talked about.
