I agree, but as this LOA points out the company wanted a better cost cutting measure. They saw guys dumping tons of trip which made the SIL worth more than what we were doing. They are going to throw this out there to see who will bite.

I would think this is perfect for those with ANG/AFR/USNR ties as well as those guys/gals that have side businesses. It's also interesting that it is exclusively International categories - though not surprising.

That is where the surplus normally is in the winter. It also will save them the cost of more displacements for a short term period.

So is the company still saying no furloughs?

Also FWIW we are past the Comair thread.

That they are. It further shows that they are still planning a robust summer 2010 schedule. They just want to cut until the summer uptick.

I agree with you Joe. I called my reps a couple of times recommending that the Midwest pilots get merged into Delta with NWA. My reps laughed at me as I was on probation. I even flew with one of my reps and that's all we talked about.

Why did they laugh at you? What was their logic? We are our own worst enemy....

Is it really?

I don't mean to call out a connection carrier ... God knows we've all done stupid crap in airplanes before. But today taking off out of ATL, I watched an ASA jet ... 5 feet after being airborne, he banked hard left towards the ramp (26L) flying over the grass towards E and F. The airplane left the vertical confines of the runway. Then banked hard right back to the runway. I was only able to see it because we were next behind them and were on the runway as they were still rolling. Seriously, I thought they were crashing ... or at least had an engine failure at rotation. It was like he was #2 in a formation takeoff and lead kicked him out to enroute trail. Very scary looking.

I really really really really really^infinity hope that DAL reigns in our connection carriers. Some are very good, some are VERY bad. And we need to clean up our act too or this company is in trouble. I guess maybe FOQA will help ensure we are save.

I love DAL .. just hope we don't screw this up !!

Having the data to look at issues and correct them as a whole is a great way to create better results for the group. This data has pin pointed issues in SFO, and MCO that have been fixed because of its use. I like the fact that we have come to an agreement on it!
It is good for all of us to see what errors we are making as a group.
