Agreed Ferd. The original comment that started this tangent was made in jest in reference to DAL not reimbursing the full cost of FAA Class 1 physicals. Lets get back on track.

PS I listened to a CP"s secretary explaining the physical reimbursment. They pay you once for the EKG and once not and it may not match when you get your's done.........but it's all a wash in a rolling 12 month period. Ok sorry, that even confused me.

Read your posts in the past, and have agreed with you most of the time. However, Im gonna have to throw the %& flag on this one. As an 8 year ASA instructor type guy and now a DAL junior puke for the last few years, I hafta say that the DAL school house is actually kinda lacking compared to how we trained in the "Minors." Granted, there are 500 hour wunderkinds, but we put them through the wringer. Whereas here, they kinda assume you can do it (regardless if you actually can). When DCI newbies come out of training, theyre definitely green, however, as a captain, flying 5 legs-a-day, 4 days a week, with an inexperienced guy will certainly put hair on your chest. DCI capts are pretty sharp and are more than qualified to work here.


And as far as bigger and more complex... Bigger? Yes. More complex? The CRJ (pronounced "surge"), and he ERJ (pronounced "urge") are pretty technologically advanced pos's. Try a Brasilia training program for that matter.
