In ER talk its "breads and cheeses" as in "we got on the boat to go to Lake Cuomo and the Captain brought some wine and one of the flight attendants brought a tray of breads and cheeses and we spread it all out." I hated that term so much. I refused to partake in breads and cheeses although I love both. Maybe if I hadn't gone to school in Alabama where our version of breads and cheeses was "we had a tailgate with beer and bbq, it was awesome." Just irked me, just say we brought some wine and food. But maybe thats why I got kicked to the 88 where have neither.

But as to the AF/KLM thing, are our allies in CDG and AMS now looking at us as that damn Delta. I mean, what do we make compared to them? Are we their Republic? We're buying up and merging with their partners and now we'll come in and take over their flying! I mean from pilots, flight attendants and maintenance we've got to be super cheap. And we don't strike very often, they do it all the time! EVEN IF IT DIDN'T DEAL WITH THEM. I mean, I'm at a loss for words, what do we claim the regional guys are to us? :D

I was half teasing because I couldn't remember how much money AF/KLM promised Delta if it completed the merger with NWA. I thought it was like $1B but I am WAY too lazy to look it up right now.

Hell yeah...I did all of the above before 8pm. Then bathed the kid, fed the dogs, tinkered on the CJ7. Now I'm watching the Braves kick the S&#T out of the Mets. AAHHH...nothing like reserve on the 88!!!

I know we as Pilots B**CH alot about everything, but come on!! Just think about the rest of the workforce on a 9 to 5er, 5 days a week, in the cubicle with two 15 minute breaks and 45 minutes for lunch. They rarely get to appreciate what a hot, young, junior NY flight attendant looks like in that red dress. I rarley get to see it too, but when you do!!!

And out of the dress isn't so bad either!!!

Even if that happens, it doesn't change the discussion of the merged seniority list. Roughly 250 NWA guys (if memory serves) were "pulled and plugged." Now after one PRIP, those pulled and plugged guys are gone. That's significant. It makes the pull and plug numbers moot even before SOC.

I think that more of the south guys will be bumped than north guys as we move past SOC. Seniority is king, and the fact is that many do not have it for what they are on, or where they are based. It is fair, to everyone except those that will get bumped to a jet and a base they have no desire to be in.

Again, even if true, it has no bearing on the discussion of the SLI.

There are plenty of injustices on both sides Carl. Just enough to make it fair. Lets all just give it a rest. I am sure that most will be moderately irked one way or another in two years or so. Just in time for another dance partner.

That is very true, and it is why I was surprised by Bar's comment - and I said so.

You never get to vote for an outcome in an SLI.

I know. Like an arbitration that gave no credit for date of hire when the two airlines' were a merger of equals. But that's what they said was fair...so it is fair.

And they were prescient too...weren't they. Even before SOC, the future attrition credited to NWA pilots is gone.

I think it was about 273

The TFA was tied to the JPWA which we voted for. We agreed on the methods. Plain and simple.

Once again, Carl many many people from both sides are going to feel cheated now, after the first few bids and the remainder of their career. It is what it is. Block did the plug and play and it is binding. A first I might add. It is done, and none of this can be reopened. Time for all of us to just deal with the effects.
I know I will. I many not be happy about the outcome, but I will not blame in on my brothers from the North, the union, or myself. It is just the industry we work in.

I have to admit I did not read all of Bar's comments. Fact is he is correct. I looked at other venues for employment. It was not for the reason he stated though.

Here's what I find interesting. NWA wanted date of hire - which was not unprecedented. DAL wanted a ratio based on various formulas - which was not unprecedented. The result: almost exactly the DAL proposal. Any objective analysis reveals that we NWA guys got our a$$e$ kicked. Our proposal lost completely. The only thing we got was the pull and plug. Now that advantage is GONE after one PRIP.

I think you and all the DAL-S guys will understand that the best way to make (and keep) friends is to not complain to the losing side. You do not know what it's like to lose completely...we do. Let's just keep quiet and move on.

Carl, we see eye to eye then. My point was not to complain about a displacement et al.
I know that guys that have been here for 20+ years that see more stagnation will not be happy about any of this. I am not happy about stagnation either, but as I stated, it is what it is.
