If that dude had looked up he'd be dead. It's like that KLM 744 that landed short on the displaced threshold at SXM.

45 total now. I've heard chirps that the number of 320's being held over for conversions has fallen, meaning more 320's for retirement. Suppose to be a handful of 76Q's still flying in a few years after retirements and conversions.

And on a related note, I experienced ship 627 with winglets?!?! I know the 650-range got winglets awhile ago before the 757 fleet fate was determined but nothing as old as 627 is suppose to be around for long.

The 15 321s was very specifically stated as to replace the capacity loss of 767 domestic lift... 10 76Ds to 15 321s. Not necessarily on the same routes, but same overall capacity.

I've heard nothing of 320s getting cut, but I can't rule it out. Supposedly the winglets pay for themselves in a year or 2, so... well, you know. We also have planes in the desert with pretty fresh IFE.

I do know for sure that DL is very pleased with Airbus support of their product, while boeing has gotten pretty dang cocky.

Delta figured out how to replace the 757 ...

I was wondering about that. The VIX closed at 11.58 and the ETF's were at 22 something. So how do I go long the VIX in my brokerage link if I can't buy call options?

And thank you for the response, I was confused by the disparity in the numbers and was trying to avoid any ETF shenanigans.

Thanks, E

It's not profitably tradable unless you have lottery style short term luck. DO NOT DO IT. Listen to Orvil.

As a CFB Boeing reminds me of the Florida Gators under Coach Meyer with Tim Tebow.

Reporter: "Coach, we understand one of your players was arrested?"
Meyer: "Have you met Tim Tebow?"
Reporter: "We understand a couple of players were arrested?"
Meyer: "Did you know Tim Tebow won the Heisman and does missionary trips to orphanages?"
Reporter: "There are concerns about the direction of the team?"
Meyer: "All you need to know is, Tim Tebow."
Reporter: "Is there a plan for after Tim Tebow?"
Meyer: "No. We don't need a plan for after Tim Tebow because Tim is in our hearts."

Reporter: "We understand the 787 is having difficulties."
Boeing: "Have you seen our 777-300?"
Reporter: "We understand you're grounding the entire 787 fleet."
Boeing: "Have you seen our order book on the 777-300?"
Reporter: "Delta's CEO said you're a ship without a rudder."
Boeing: "We are the company that invented the 777, 747 and 757."
Reporter: "Is there a plan for after these planes are gone?
Boeing: "I said we are the company that brought you the 777, 747 and 757, that's all that matters. We built those."

Carl

You're right, I'm over thinking this and trying too hard. Thank you Dalad, Orville, and Carl. I was going to back the truck up and get long in a big way and then start trolling the trading forums all over the net and convince everyone who would listen that we were going to attack Russia....during another government shut down...and make some other stuff up too.

Edit: That sounded a bit sarcastic, I'm only joking and I am going to heed your advice.

Thanks, E

Union has compete with itself against other pilots in the Delta system
Junior FO'S have better seniority rights than senior Captains
Pilots are trading empty promises for money and holding company's costs down with a corporate shell game
QOL issues. Pilots can not bid equipment or bases within the divided system
Extra expense - separate certificates require redundant management structures and each Certificate is in fact another fleet type under the regulations with different mechanics and crews.
In efficient - airplanes are constrained to arbitrary scope limits rather than their Certified capabilities.

That's just off the top if my head on my phone in the tag office.

I too had rampant run of "B scale" thoughts. I'm not a FAN...
