I see that attitude every day with Deltas finest. I dealt with that attitude with the HR rep and Hiring MGR. The arrogance was unbelievable and this latest EtD is over the top.

Yes I fly Delta passengers and yes I will stay professional in the flight deck that's the person I am.

That is kind and professional of you to write.

I agree with you that this EtD thing is misguided.

As a 20 year veteran of this war, I know where a few of the land mines are and have been trying to guide you guys clear, but your generals have a lot more credibility than this foot soldier. I liked your latest MEC Comm. This thing will work itself out. I know where you are coming from. Ignore bigotry. The web board blow hards are gentlemen when you show up for work, no problems.

Fr8tdog, no worries, just trying to understand why you're so p!$$ed.

Aren't all current 9E pilots gonna get an SSP interview before any potential EtD new hires? Isn't that a huge advantage that most pilots, civilian or military, didn't have? There are 11k pilots updating their fix-it emails and sitting by the phone just for the same opportunity that 9E pilots will enjoy.

It sounds like you've already had your interview and it didn't go well..ok..who knows why..but I assume you still have 1000's of TPIC and will be very competitive for any other airline currently hiring. Maybe it's time to just chalk up your SSP as interview prep and move on to the next big thing. You really are in an awesome position to move on to a better gig, it just won't be Delta.

Jmho..

Jmho..

Might be. I think they can re-interview after a year or something.

Anyone using the Dependent Care FSA? Seems like a no brainer, just making sure there aren't any gotchas. The baby is going to go on the wife's medical insurance, any issue with that and doing a dependent care FSA on mine?

I'll fill out the change of life forms etc... Any other things Delta wise I'll need to do?

Thanks.

What's on your app is also part of your overall score, and some guys will never score high enough to get the CJO, so they told them they can't come back. Some guys, however, were told to prep more, and re-interview in a year.

Don't forget to add baby's name to TravelNet too.

No, I do the exact same thing. Works fine. Just make sure to read the rules for what qualifies for Dependent Care for the new kid.

If you aren't using a business with a Tax id, you'll have to provide the caregivers SSN... which means it's going to be seen as income by the IRS, if you get my drift.

I didn't see anything about Korean leaving SkyTeam. That was probably added to balance out their formation A380 takeoff/landing on the north parallels of ATL every day while we struggle to put one triple 7 on it.

Hope your mom makes a full and active recovery!

Of course not. 5191 could have happened to anyone. Wrong signs, wrong NOTAMS, wrong charts, wrong ATIS, wrong markings, FAA controller in violation of policy…a single controller instead of 2 and on part 2 of full back to back shifts with 2 hours of sleep in between. And that exact same wrong line up scenario had been occuring several times to other 121 and GA aircraft but were usually caught by the controller(s) or pilots on the line up. Another company's RJ (because that's pretty much all any airline flew there during that time) was told to abort by a controller on the roll. The saying "an accident waiting to happen" is an epic understatement.

I hate outsourcing. We need to offer it no quarter and do the heavy lifting to reduce it as much as possible. There are plenty of legitimate examples that we can use as incitements of outsourcing taking bites out of safety, customer service and efficiency. 5191 isn't one. That could have been anyone.
