Try this on. If the Volunteers ever reached #1 in a national poll (as unlikely as it is), would you expect them to sit on their asses, march around, and brag about being #1? That's pretty much all you're doing right now.

Or would you expect them to work even harder, and live up to their potential--regardless of whether they're playing UF or East Bumble**** State? To do everything they can to win NOW, because who knows what next season will bring?

I view our situation as being a team that's currently #1 after a handful of games. You want us to be satisfied with that, without finishing the season. I think it's nowhere near our potential. Simply put: you are complacent. I am not. You hit the panic switch. You didn't think there was more money on the table. You got swayed by the sales job of "fleeting opportunities" and the "time value of money."

The attitude of someone demanding to know "what contract would you rather have" in our present circumstances reeks of self-defeat and, frankly, laziness. We've got to take advantage of this NOW...before our circumstances change.

We have enabled a "union" that generally takes the path of least resistance. That falls squarely on our shoulders. Results: the past couple of agreements have been a pathetic joke given the company's success. It's going to be damn hard to boot the entrenched bureaucrats out of there, but it must be done. Leadership. Where is it?

If we want it, we've got to be ready to depart our comfort zone. For goodness' sake, MD doesn't even have the "engagement" juice to keep us out of an unsuitable hotel for two months! Two months! Be honest: that's some weak sauce.

Our complacent mindset (as personified by you) as a pilot group needs changed if we expect to cash in on the company's success (which we in no small part make possible).
Nope. Deflection from what you have been saying. Not worthy of any response.

iow. Fail.

Bye.

Ok. Then can we expect to see you pointing out that irrelevance to others here whenever they compare our contract to those at the other airlines?

Emphasis added.

You seem to be saying that pilots should only be coupled to the success of the company when it is profitable. Is that right?

What concessions? Are you talking about our recent LOA that got the 5.15 ADG for all pilots, all the time?

What do you fly and where? I seriously doubt you are even a pilot, though as the teenage son of one, you are quite in touch with what is going on.

While that's an important distinction, you also throw in 115 vs 85 degree temps, nasty vs beautiful water. But in Dubai you get the Burkinis, that's unique.

Wow. So you are saying that Purple is a teenage son of a DAL pilot sitting in a dark basement typing self important drivel into an internet black hole? That resonants. Perhaps a pipe sitting on a ancient coffee table beside some empty cough syrup bottles? Yep, I'm envisioning. Except maybe he's in the 30 to 38 age group, unemployed, and every once in awhile he yells at Mom to bring down some more meatloaf.

unless he was talking about CDOs, those were negotiated.

What are your thoughts on the most recent attempt at "constructive engagement" as it applies to the SAN hotel?
To me I think that is what he is saying. Sure we got 5.15 but with it came CDOs. Was that a cost offset for the ADG?

If that's the cockpit, I hope we order them.

You mean lock in a lower profit sharing rate just prior to big profits, plus gain more pilot efficiency and at the same time win a carrot to dangle above the heads of DCI operators who had long term contracts for inefficient 50 seat flying with no intention to give those up?

You could look at it that way, or you could say big pay raise, better work rules and scope winning! And of course 717++++.

But I think you were right the first time.

Was it an airplane one? They also have a GSE one, make sure your kid gets one of those.
