Yeah I don't think so. I graduated 10 years ago from the over priced school in Daytona and I had the most money that could be given to a student due to financial hardship and the max I could get from the government backed loan was 1/6 of the total price.
I cant imagine the cost now but I seriously doubt that the average student can borrow 100k from Government backed loans PS .... I HATE SALLIE MAE!!!! |

Since you brought it up... how does ERAU convince so many kids to come there? I am not throwing rocks at anybody that did, but I have heard many guys talk about how pricey it was to go there. And when the shiite hits the fan in the industry, you wind up with a degree that doesn't seem to help much in a world where aviation people are out of work. It just seems that it is classic putting all of one's eggs in the same bucket. And then seeing what tuition is there... wow. They must have one heluva recruiting department.
The all eggs in a basket and pay a high price was honestly the pay that the majors had late 90's. Thought process was I'll be making 150k in 5 years so 30k a year for school chump change. Now a days I can't imagine paying the price. |

I hope you never have to do this, but if you sat at the controls of a -900 after all the time in a 757, you'd be bewildered to come up with any stretch of any imagination that it is a suitable, key: suitable, replacement for the 757.
Word is HNL mechanics are going to school for the 900. Islands, here they come. Anyone remember the small provision slipped into the last loa?... If so, then you're mistaken. 737= no haz rest facility. |

Yep. State University and mom-and-pop flight school is the correct formula. Always has been.
Looks like Grumpy Cat got in on the action, too: http://cdn.meme.li/instances/53000563.jpg |

This very clearly shows the mindset of how ALPA PAC would like to see the congress trend. It's what prevents me from sending money to you. When I see those contributions for Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, then the endorsement of Obama, it's clear the PAC's views and my views couldn't be farther apart. Sure glad to see these "pilot partisans" supporting us against the Export/Import Bank...right?
Carl I used to agree to the union mantra of "vote your job" (therefore vote D)...until I realized...no country: no job. |

If they displace 1/4 of our 747 pilots next year (barring an early-out program) there will be a massive downward bid tempered only a little by the 330 deliveries.
