There are times I could benefit and I don't have a problem with people using them to commute but when I take my wife on vacation and even my S2s are useless it doesn't seem like a very good idea.

It's not something I have a strong opinion on, it just doesn't seem like great policy.

How about banking unused S2's?

resolutions failed.....im not really surprised. maybe next time. I wonder how many commuters were there, and I wonder how many people were even aware that the 2hr uncontactable thing was left out/negotiated away during LOA 14-01.

To me most deadheads are scheduled in advance when the bid packets are posted. If you didn't use it then yes maybe a paying passenger could get on but I bet that's not likely as I guess you could hold the deadhead til the bitter end. An HK or nonrev seems like they'd fill the spot at best.

Then you bank that redeem it for a ticket that blocks a real paying passenger.

I don't think the company would okay that.

I flew with a DFW commuter who redeemed skymiles tickets on occasion. If instead of using money, or cash, or whatever you use and went to using that credit card all of the time and paying it off monthly... could you build up a good skymiles bank? Honestly asking.

While I think it was in poor taste to just nuke the resolutions only because you weren't there, particularly the 2 hour uncontactable one... that "banking PS" resolution is a slippery slope to a lot of bad places.

It's been stated earlier, and I'll state it in a different way: You never EVER have to answer your phone. There are only times you have to acknowledge. So, if you're on a mainline flight as well as many DCI flights- it's free DeltaNet. You can acknowledge from there, so I would suggest just upping your strategy.

The other 3 resolutions also failed because the makers were not there to present them. I agreed with the room that if one makes a resolution, then one needs to be there to present it.

No one wants to present/argue the merits of a resolution that they didn't create.
I disagree with that. Perhaps the individuals who drafted the resolutions were unable to get out of their trips. It's not exactly easy to swap or drop these days. Perhaps they had the day off, but were unable to get out of a prior engagement. Poor excuse, and I'm disappointed to hear that.

PBS Bidding question. When bidding vacation slide, is it correct that -5 days will move vacation up (earlier in the month 5 days ?). Thanks!
