That is a great video. It shows the aircraft at it's max altitude and climb rate through that overcast layer. It does not show the crew asking each other, "there is a hill ahead, you want to go around on the right, or left?"

It shows a lot of the ground. That airplane loves the ground.

Brief interruption:

Contemplating a trip out to Grand Teton/Yellowstone Parks or Bryce Canyon/Zion area.

Any opinions on which to do, tips, recommendations, personnal experiences? I don't think we have time to adequately do both in the same trip (@9 days).

We would have two younger kids in tow.

Never having been to any of them we are not sure which direction to go. Yosemite is another consideration.

Thanks

Suggestions:
  • Bring a fire extinguisher.

They are all good choices. In 9 days, you could do the highlights of all of them, but you'd do no justice. We stayed in a Yellowstone cabin and what I remember about Yellowstone is what idiots some of the tourists were like walking right up to a bull elk (saw that a bunch). I think Skywest flies into west Yellowstone.

Of all that you mentioned, I thought Bryce Canyon was the best for beauty. If you are driving, take mountain bikes.

I still can't believe the immature writing I see from our fellow pilots written in the bathroom stalls in Atlanta. I thought I hired on at the big D with a bunch of professionals who were above that childish behavior. I guess when we can act like professionals we just might get paid like them again. Instead we fight amongst ourselves.

Dear Dalpa,

Please just says this. "The pilots at Delta have waited long enough. It's time to restore what was taken from us in bankruptcy. Delta is enormously profitable, in part due to the sacrifices we made. It's beyond time that we get a return on that investment. Our pledge to you, the Delta pilot, is to obtain a contract that returns our compensation, plus inflation, to its rightful place. A cadillac every month."

(I'll take a Porsche every two months)

Ps. It's called a moose knuckle and that was from one big moose!!

I'm already planning on using the loudest voice I know...my NO vote on whatever the NC sends our way. We should start a St Louis style protest outside DALPA HQ.

For those who don't already know, the attorney in question is Lee Seham. Lee is a very tough attorney who has beaten ALPA in court many times, and has referred to ALPA national as a wife beater and ALPA members as being the battered spouses.

So you can see that a lover of all things ALPA like alfaromeo would throw this kind of emotional tantrum. Carry on Alfa.

Okay, I really don't know the answer to this question, but I sense another Carl-sized whopper in the works so I will take the shot. Please list all these cases that Lee Seham has won against ALPA. If you include the United SLI case, everyone should know that the arbitrators refused to even read his email and every other lawyer simply laughed at the submission. So other than this, lets list the cases and include what exactly he won.

On an iPhone so don't have the time now, but Lee got ALPA decertified at UsAirways per the direction of UsAirways pilots. ALPA fought it hard, and lost...to Lee Seham.

Now that I've answered your question Alfa, answer this one: What "whopper" have I ever told here? Even one?

Thanks,

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that a certification drive and vote by pilots does not appear on a court docket anywhere. That was not a court case in which there was a lawsuit filed by Seham against ALPA in which he won. You haven't answered the question.

I also do not know the answer. Get back to us when you aren't restricted by your iPhone and have the chance to provide more details.

That makes sense. How about we wait and see what they come up with before we vote?

It should come from you and your DPA buds who are squandering money that should be being used to protect and further our careers.

Who's squandered more money? The DPA campaign or DALPA accepting bankruptcy as a reset on our behalf? I'll bet the average Delta pilot has had around $100K/year "squandered" for the past 10 years. That's a total squander in the neighborhood of $1 million each. If there are 9000 of us who've been here during that whole time period, that's a grand total squander of $9 billion. I'm thinking the DPA campaign has not been anywhere near that expensive. ;)

I think he was teasing.

There is no way he does that without also getting everyone around him to vote no to whatever the NC sends our way.
