I've provided several such "adrenaline rushes" early on. And I won't do it again.

I've been averaging about a greenie per month this year. I regularly turn them down with legit reasons (it always hurts). I've turned down 2 this month. I've never had an argument or an issue.

I do the same and have never had a issue.
well ... of course. I've actually had one state, and I quote, "I own your ass." I reminded her President Lincoln had signed the Emancipation Proclamation and since about 1864 wasn't nobody owning anybody that I was aware of. Most over there are terrific; just doing a critical job very well to keep Delta Air Lines moving. But a few (maybe one ... since moved to Crew Tracking BTW) is comically inept. There's only one I've heard stories about, but invariably it is the same one. And while we are on the topic ... we could outsource that gig to India. |

How can you be expected to know about a trip that you didn't know existed until you knew about it?
Yes you can put *some* qualifiers, but its completely unreasonable to expect any human being to constantly load iCrew with every single parameter in rolling real time as fast as life comes at them. The whole "tag you're it!" is asinine anyway. Its a pre internet relic that has outserved its usefulness. CS wastes way more time now because of it. Every GS and IA assigned by phone should 100% be a proffer. That way people would actually answer their phone. A quick "no thanks" is way better for CS than the current song and dance, where the pilot has numerous get out of trip free cards they can play anyway. The complete ineffectiveness of this ancient mentality is occasionally masked by the adrenaline rush of actually finding a sucker that answers their phone (knowing full well who is calling lol) and convinving them to do it against their will without playing one of many get out of trip free cards. The emotional rush of that occasional big score masks the complete and udder ineffectiveness of a completely obsolete and counter productive system. |

Read my posts on this issue. That is exactly what I've been saying. Due to the very inadequate system we have you can't really put in qualifiers that will eliminate all the trips you don't want. That is why you don't answer the phone and screen them that way. I would answer the phone 100% of the time if it was always a proffer.

Glad you would answer. but some might not suspecting an assignment.
Guys race to the phone to respond to robocalls. The wh0res love premium pay without adding to their GS count. Even on Christmas and the Super Bowl. |

The audit you may receive will determine whether or not those deductions were allowable.;) There's a long history between transportation workers and the IRS. Some of that history involving NWA and DAL pilots has been recounted here. You might want to find an accountant that has some experience in those areas. Good luck. Trust me I know one of these special people and if you claim a state that you do not fly out of they check. 99% are easy, the ones that are grey get audited. You cannot claim commuting expenses. You can run a crash pad and run it as a small business, but that is a totally different animal than claiming commuting expenses as a business deduction. |

If you have an idea, send it to your reps, there is a SOT going on right now about this stuff. Easy things like Pref Qualifiers are generally easy to get a movement on. |
